The movie was on sale and it arrived on time. It was in great condition. I was really happy to find the movie on 4K.

Great movie! The beginning of a long running franchise. I remember watching this movie in the theater when it first came out and the scene when the alien first made its appearance was wonderfully done. Shocked me at the time.

Nice copy to own. Is it better than the DVD release? Questionable. The sound really hasn't been upgraded, and the picture, well the source material might have been great in the theaters in 1979, but even with my slowly worsening eyes, the 4K only highlighted the grainyness of the picture. As I had only ever rented Alien and never owned a copy, I am happy that I finally do have a copy before physical copies are no longer made and sold. And this is why it gets a 4 star rating. I have, in August 2026, the best available copy of the movie. I also enjoyed the added director's cut. Also, as with pretty much every older movie remade in 4K Ultra, the sound quality was left untouched and remians innthe stone age of 1970s theater audio quality.
