My cat is broken. Let me clarify. My cat won't play with this delightful toy, however, the two cats belonging to my friends absolutely love it - so much that after some rough play, the first butterfly met its demise. The toy is very sturdy, has great battery life - two AA batteries (it does not stay "on" indefinitely) and under normal conditions, the butterfly lives a lot longer. However, my cat eyes it suspiciously (she's 4 years old) and circumvents the area. She must be broken.

my male cat loves this thing he wouldn't even go to eat last night so I had to put it up so he would eat my other cat she's not been able to really play with it because he is on that toy however I have seen her creep up to it and swat at it a couple times but he's a big boy so looks like I'm going to have to buy another one LOL

My cat is primarily indoors so she needs more exercise. When I'm home, I use this to keep my cat entertained and as enrichment. I usually keep it stored away so she doesn't get bored of it and take it out periodically. I'd say maybe twice a week. The toy comes with two different reflective and colored butterflies that are easy to attach and detach. It fits into the hole at the top of the base, but you have to make sure it's turned a certain way or else it doesn't go in correctly. It spins 360 degrees my cat gets plenty of exercise. It's fun to watch her “hunt” as she plays. Super cute! It does not come with batteries so you have to supply your own. It requires 3 AA batteries. The base has rubber feet so it has a good grip of slick surfaces and doesn't slide around too easily. There is a simple switch to turn it on our off. It still keeps her interested when it's not on because the spring makes the butterfly bobble around which touched. The wire holding the butterfly is strong but does not last long term because it does bend but it an be unkinked easily. I've had mine for a few weeks now but I was able to find replacements for when I need to replace them.

My cat loves this and I'm happy that it doesn't have feathers. Feathers can choke cats. The batteries only last a day, under almost constant use.

my kitty is from out side little skittish but for the most part lmao my sons lab loves it hahah but its really cool goes super fast I think that is why my kitty gets weirded out but 100% cool

This is a great Butterfly toy for kitties! It takes 3 AA batteries and the Butterfly lights up and flutters around. It does come with 2 Butterfly attachments which is nice. When I first sat it by my kitties and turned it on they were scared of it, then the second time they actually started playing with it for 2 hours straight and loving it! I had to turn it off just so they would come eat, so I highly recommend this toy for your kitties!!!

i really thought my cat was going to love this, but he didn't. He played with it for 1 minute and lost interest. This may be better for kitten or young cats, but my guy is 2 and would rather play with yarn. overall product cute and cane with 2 butterflies.

I'm torn. The cats love it!! The sensor much of the time doesn't pick up the cats being by it and I have to pass my hand over the sensor. I have to watch as they're playing with it because they can tip it over and it continues to flop around. The butterflies are very sturdy as they chew on them and they hold up. I would prefer a rechargeable unit. But with all those concerns , it is one of their favorites

Quite honestly, the unit does what it says that it will do. BUT, it does not involve my cat in any interactions as I had hoped for. The butterfly goes around and around and around all day long. But all my cat do is look/watch it go around and around over and over again! It doesn't seem to offer any exercise for my cat!?! I will be returning. It is well made and well made. It just doesn't offer much stimulation for my cat.

its a great toy, fun and interactive. i gave it 3 stars because my cats weren't that much into it. i have one cat obsessed with lasers and the other one is still a kitten and curious but feral and likes hide, seek, and chase. i thonk this toy is to stationary for them.
