This is it. If youre anything like me youve spent the last few hours looking for a good trimmer. Do yourself a favor and stop looking! This has been the busy trimmer Ive ever owned. Very sharp cuts, low noise, long lasting battery and easy to adjust height. Seriously no complaints. Ive been using it now for 2 months. Will update if that changes.
Seems to be a decent product- time will tell... EDIT 3/3/20! After several months of use, I can now say this trimmer is an excellent choice. I recently took it on a 31 day vacation, forgetting to bring the charger(!), and it held up to an every other day usage no problem! Buy it, you'll like it!
I bought this as a quick, cheap, replacement for a higher end model that finally died. Honestly, this thing is fantastic and I can't believe I got it for roughly $30. My only MINOR complaint is that it's very hard to trim my upper lip / right under my nose with the GUARD ON - but this is the case for most razors I've used.I'm constantly changing how I "wear" a beard, from letting it grow out to just keeping controlled stubble, and this razor has so many length options that it's perfect for me. I highly recommend it!
Needed a cheap trimmer while I was on vacation for 2 weeks. This did the job well, and had even more adjustable lengths than the trimmer I usually use by Norelco. I was very pleased with it's ability to charge quickly and the quality of the build. Was great for 2 weeks but cannot speak to how well it holds up over a long period of time. For the price, I think it's a great deal.
I thought this broke, but apparently the blades just got jammed or something. I guess it needs to be oiled? Anyway, for a low price it has lasted 18 months so far. Doesn't do a terrific job, but pretty good. Glad it came back to life after a day or two and cleaning the blades.
I bought the shaver 5 months ago and yesterday the 6-position trimming guide stopped working (it's stuck on the setting for the shortest beard). I didn't realize it until it had taken a chunk out of my beard, so that sucked. Up until now, it's been a great shaver, and the lithium battery stays charged forever.
It's hard to argue with the low price tag. This trimmer does exactly what you need it to - for a half dozen uses. But before long it's painfully evident why this costs less than a decent meal. Battery won't hold a charge, trim guard won't hold its place (hope you wanted that sudden 8 -> 1 change in the middle of your face!), and 90% of the time the power button won't work. It's not even just a turning on issue, I've had to leave it running over night to drain the battery because it wouldn't turn off. This is cheap junk that serves the same purpose as a disposable razor but provides far more satisfaction when you finally chuck it in the bin. It's clear that Phillips has stopped caring about the end user experience. I'd honestly feel safer shaping my beard with a table saw than this finicky garbage.
Purchased in April 2018, its now stopped working. Well actually, its not that it wont work, it always works. Will not shut off. Had to run until battery ran down. Assuming a short, but not safe to charge and use. Past the 30 day return, up until now it worked great. To bad, I had recommended to others.
I have gone through a half dozen of these trimmers, different brands, every 2 years.None of these trimmers allow you to replace the battery. This is a shame because the trimmer still works and shaves well when plugged in, but I prefer using it in the shower so I don't make a mess everywhere. What's worse is if you break open the trimmers, there is a single AA rechargeable battery that is soldered into the device. So when the battery barely holds a charge any more (after about 2 years), then you just have to throw it away and buy a new one. This is exactly what Phillips Norelco wants you to do.The greedy jerks at Phillips Norelco don't care about the environment or planet earth. If they did, they could have easily made their trimmers with replaceable batteries.
Trash. Absolute trash. Dont waste your money on this. Battery last about 15mins and needs a week to charge. So frustrating I was excited about this. First month was great. Took it on vacation with me and died instantly and hasn't worked the same since.
