I began using All about 2 years ago after my daughter had a severe skin reaction from Gain the detergent I had been using. Apparently, they were adding all kinds of fragrances and the physicians stated they had treated many reactions. At that point, the physician recommended All detergent and it's been wonderful. We've had no problems and our clothes come out clean and smelling great!

Works to reduce odor, but with a downside: it leaves a bit of a waxy – or I would say “schmutzy” – feel on clothes. There's a science behind this. Read on, and I'll explain. All Free and Clear Odor Relief has the exact same ingredients as All Free and Clear Oxi, except that the Odor Relief formula contains one additional chemical: zinc ricinoleate. This is a chemical that binds to or surrounds odor-producing molecules so that they can't produce an odor. Think of those products that you spray on clothes to hide odors: same idea, different chemical. Despite being chemically related to ricin (the poison that Walter used to dispose of his enemies in Breaking Bad), zinc ricinoleate is actually an extremely safe compound. It has an EWG rating of 1 (safest possible substance, according to the Environmental Working Group). It is frequently used in whole-body deodorants, because it is considered safer than other traditional deodorant ingredients. But “safe” doesn't mean “enjoyable”. In its raw form, zinc ricinoleate is kind of a waxy pellet. It isn't very soluble in water, and it tends to flocculate (that means it clumps together when suspended in water). This explains why zinc ricinoleate can leave a waxy sort of feel on clothes: The particles stick together, and don't dissolve well even after your washer puts your clothes through two or three rinses. How did I learn all of this? Mostly from Henkel's patents on odor relief detergent. (Henkel is the manufacturer of All-brand laundry products.) The waxy feel was gone, and the clothes are perfectly clean. This makes sense, since it has exactly the same ingredients as the Odor Relief formula – but minus the zinc ricinoleate.

I use ALL FREE CLEAR all the time. I bought the new odor RELIEF. DID NOT WORK! i had pajama bottoms that were soiled with urine and when washed and dried..they still smell like urine. I am so disappointed. They are soaking in dawn dishwashing liquid now and im hoping the smell will come out. The ODOR RELIEF is not worth the money. I may even switch detergent. So upset
