The flavor of this ground beef was excellent. I tried buying it somewhere else and I didn't like it. as much as the Walmart ground beef. I would recommend it highly with the 73 I think the flavor enhances when it's not too lean. that's my take on it anyway. The fan makes it taste better
I like to buy this bigger package of hamburger and divide into 2-3 different meals for my family. Best value. After I put the divided meat into Ziplock's I smash the meat down thin as much as the bag allows in a square shape. Easy to stack in the freezer.
What I would really like to know is why you never have this size online for us Walmart customers to have delivered. I can only get it once in a great while??? I have watched morning and night for the past week and it was not available. You do have a meat dept? Right?? And you have the 73% in the 2.25 and 1 lb packs....but very rarely in the 4.5....WHY??? I know it's not the healthiest, but it is available in the other 2 sizes, so why not the large, which is more economical, or is that the idea?? I just don't understand. Hopefully, you will start keeping it stocked, as well. I would never use the rolls of beef, that is NOT an option. Thank you.
I love Walmart's fresh ground hamburger, it stays fresh longer than other brands, cooks into nice crumbles %26 produces less grease than most other brands.
The ground beef tasted fine accept for it was more chewy than normal no matter how I cooked it. I did make 3 meals out of it. And all three meals was dubbed chewy in a how I cooked it. Put almost taste alike. It had some fake meat and but I don't know. I'm not sure what was wrong with it
if your looking for inexpensive ground beef this will work! it's obviously not the best quality ground beef you can buy but it taste delicious in tacos, meat sauce or taco salad! you can make any meal or snack with this. I like the convenience of the packaging, its a lot easier then the rolls of ground beef although I believe you get a better deal price wise with buying the roll. there is a lot of fat/grease and it does shrink down from that so just keep that in mind when cooking for portion purposes!
To my family and It tastes better than the hamburger we normally get. We usually buy the 5lb roll or 10lb. but you got to try this. I'm picky when it comes to value and taste.
I drained 3/4 Cup grease to 1 pound burger. 4.5 lbs burger X 3/4Cup grease = 0.521588lbs grease. That is more than 27% fat for 73%/27% rated hamburger.
After receiving the meat, (the tray said 4.5 lbs.), i weigh my meat out so i can break it down into 1 pound packages. This 4.5 package weighed 4 pounds. Doesn't seem like much but i buy packages like this often and they never weigh as much as they say they do and that money adds up over time. Highly recommend weighing meat out once its purchased
I know this may sound petty but, I've been seeing videos online about Walmart falsely labeling their meat as weighing more than it does. Some cases were double the actual weight. I got the 4.5lb pack of ground beef and decided to weight it. It should be 72oz. I weighed the meat on a mechanical scale and it was 69oz. So, 3oz less than labeled. It's not much but when someone already has to buy the cheapest they can get because it's the best they can afford, they can't afford to be ripped off and over charged.
