This meat was such a good deal for the price and it had really good texture, barely any grease to pour out the pan after frying for tacos %26 spaghetti. I use it for everything (taco's, spaghetti, hamburgers, beef vegetable soup, ect) its so easy to work with. Its not like the smooshy greasy kind, this has real good texture. Would highly recommend
I buy the 80/20% Ground Beef Chuck, 4.5 lb Tray, Fresh, All Natural about once a month and mix it with the same amount of 93%/7% ground beef to make a better balance of fat. I think the 93/7 is a little too chewy for us and the 80/20 is too greasy so I balance them by mixing them and it is a perfect mix for us. I usually season with pepper, garlic salt and diced onions and make patties to freeze and then brown the rest and freeze in containers ready to use to create quick meals. I use the browned ground beef for casseroles, tacos, burritos, spaghetti sauce and more and since the meat is already browned it is quick and easy.
I have ordered the same package several times and we really enjoy the flavor of this ground beef. We appreciate that it is more red beef than fat or anything else. It never looks old. It never looks like it wasn't packaged correctly. It looks amazing. It arrives and it stays fresh in the fridge for several days. It's definitely worth trying, and I would definitely recommend it.
It was a Holiday Weekend coming and the store ran short of Ground Beef. The Ground Chuck was right there, so I grabbed the last packs. OMGoodess, the grilled burgers were so much better! Less fats, even if 80%/20%, than the Ground Beef, and a much richer flavor. Well, okay, now we have a new staple in the house. My Mom used to cook Chuck Steaks for my Dad on Sundays, while growing up. We couldn't t afford other cuts, and hers were never tough or dry. So, why not use it instead of just Ground Beef. I'll never go back to it.
I really like this ground beef. It cooks up really well without an excess amount of grease. Even without seasoning it has a nice flavor. I do think it's a little pricey, but then again I'm poor, and I guess you get what you pay for.
high amount of water and fat. cook in a very hot iron skillet and let the water boil away. i used paper towels to absorb a lot of the fat left. not quite as good as the 87/13 type, but okay for a lot of things like chili and casseroles. i would give it 3.5 stars if i could.
We have ordered this in the past over the years and it has been excellent but probably the last three orders so the last 3 to 4 months, the quality of the beef has gone downhill, the fat content has gone up to the point where it might as well be 70/30 and it's incredibly watery at times like they're watering their beef to get more weight. I won't be buying it again unless I can physically look at it in the store and judge from there
yes i was in the store shopping this morning ,an the cashier rang up both the storage totes by using 1 of the bar codes instead of both, the one she scanned was the most expensive one @$16. i said something to her about it ,cause the other tore was only$12.50, thats a difference of $3.50 . so she goes to the cart an scanned the cheaper one ,voided it ,but it did not void i ended up paying for 3 totes an only was getting 2.
I've gotten sick the last couple times I've eaten this Hamburger meat and it doesn't matter which store I get it from. Highly DO NOT RECOMMEND. The only consistency you'll have is getting food poisoning. The outside of the meat will look fresh but the inside is brown and smells horrid.
Paid almost 30.00 for this to cook out on Mothers day. The expiration day was a day before, 2 days after I bought it. Delivery orders get old meat. Bad enough the price is outrageous, but you get old meat to boot! Getting really bad Walmart.
