All Natural* 80% Lean/20% Fat Ground Beef Chuck, 1 lb Tray

I don't know where my Walmart gets its fresh packaged meat, but they are the best in my metropolitan area, unless perhaps you want to go to the high brass bracket. These ground beefs are super fresh and the dating is clear, and the flavor is always on mark. I like the way it'sground, too, the consistency is just the way you want it!

I use this item every week because it’s great for everything. I just cannot accept the increase in price…more than $2.00. That’s shameful especially when everyone is hurting. I thought I could count on WalMart for reasonable prices. That meat was the only one I could afford before the increase, along with other items! I’m on a limited income and so are so many others.

My husband managed the fresh department in Sam's Club for 13 years once upon a time so he knows meat and the ins and outs of what Sam's and Walmart offer. As a result, we do not buy our meats from Walmart. Once in awhile, I will take a gamble on hamburger in a pinch and almost always live to regret it. Sometimes it's okay, but most times it is more consistent with 85/15 priced at 80/20. The visible fat content while cooking is far too high to truly be 80/20. It's still much better than Target hamburger, but no where near as good as Harris Teeter (Kroger owned) and Publix here in the south.

It was not fresh at all. I have bought several pieces of meat from you and the meat was bad. This I ordered from you today but no more beef and chicken . I wish I can get a refund but I did not know the meat was bad until I cooked it. I still have some of the leg quarters and one pack of the beef left in freezer. It is not good.

The size was certainly enough for what I needed to cook with it, but honestly this meat had 0 taste. I get that it was one of those 80/20 types, typically used for burgers and such, but it was just wayyyy too greasy. Felt and cooked a whole lot more 75/25 to me, not sure if it was just a bad pack or what.

High fat and the taste additive is AWFUL! They add a charcoal taste to the meat. Ground chuck is SUPPOSED to be low fat! This grease is from 1 lb. NOT low fat whatsoever. This is NOT ground chuck and the F-/:()g charcoal taste additive tastes AWFUL!

I use this consistently for spaghetti, beef stroganoff, etc. The last 3 times, it has been horrible. the taste and smell are awful before, during and after cooking! I really can't believe I'm the only one disappointed in Walmart's decision to keep it on the shelf! Do not buy! if you want quality ground meat, you'll have to go elsewhere...

I’ve bought this multiple times and each time i go to cook it I find plastic string-like materials in the raw meat. It doesn’t look or feel like hair. It is dry and stiff. See photo for reference.

Have tried this 3 times now and EVERY SINGLE TIME the 1 lb net wt hamburger weighs 15.0 ounces--not 16, not 15.2 but exactly 15 ounces. In other words they consistently and knowingly short each package exactly one ounce. But charge you for full 16 ounce. Walmart's been dinged for this before--cheats!

I normally don’t leave bad reviews like this, and I’ve never had a bad experience with this Walmart location. However, I did a pick up order because I needed some ingredients for dinner. One of them being ground beef (pictured below). The ground beef I had received was 2 days past the freshness date. It is shows 7/8/2025 and I purchased this on 7/10/2025. The meat was brown and smelled old. The employees should do a better job at inspecting the items in their stores.
