Great hamburger it's expensive but cheaper than Safeway and Kroger, and it's not in a tube you can see what you are buying. It's also ground a little finer than the other stores, and 1-4 dollars less expensive per pound than the other stores as well. Thank you Walmart for helping grocery prices to be lower, us retired fixed income seniors need all the help we can get. Thank you Walmart
I do recommend this ground Beef I always buy this as we use a great deal of ground Beef in a lot of dishes. I do have to say sometimes "not often" it seems to have more fat than normal. I really hate paying such high price, although sometimes one just has to in order to get a healthy quality of meat.
937 Fresh Ground Meat has completely changed the way I cook at home. One of the most impressive things about this meat is how incredibly lean it is—there's barely any grease, even when cooking in a hot skillet. Whether I'm making burgers, tacos, meatloaf, or spaghetti sauce, I've noticed a dramatic difference in the amount of fat left behind compared to other ground meats I've used. Normally, I expect to spend time draining off excess grease or dealing with that oily layer floating on top of my sauce. But with 937 ground meat, there's almost nothing to drain. It cooks up clean, holds its shape well, and still manages to stay juicy and flavorful. You can tell it's high-quality meat with minimal filler or fat. The texture is fantastic too—meaty, not mushy, and it browns up beautifully. I've used it in everything from weeknight dinners to meal prep, and it consistently performs well. It's also great for health-conscious eaters trying to cut back on fat without sacrificing taste or protein. Another bonus: the meat doesn't shrink much during cooking. What you see in the package is pretty close to what you get on your plate, which means you're really getting your money's worth. In short, 937 Fresh Ground Meat is a step above the rest. It's lean, clean, and flavorful—the kind of ground meat that makes you feel good about what you're cooking and eating. I honestly won't go back to any other brand.
This is the only ground beef I buy, for both price and quality. It cooks up with very little fat, yet remain flavorful. I don't recommend it for burgers, which hold together better when the fat content is higher, but for everything else, this is my go-to.
Bought it in the bulk package that brought the price per pound down. Would only recommend if cost effective for your budget. For 93/7 I thought it had as much fat as 90/10 or more. Flavor about the same as all radiated meat these days. With walmart's buying power I would think they could afford to pay domestic ranchers what they're worth rather than importing beef for less $$ and charging more $$$$. I live in a small town and it disgusts me that they ran local grocers out and offer substandard substitutes. Do better walmart!
EXTREMELY disappointed. Was supposed to be 93% lean. It was 15%-18% fat (82-85% lean) Slimy, gristly and unpleasant. It did NOT smell or taste like fresh meat(tasted like an old bull no longer good for breeding). It is NOT cost effective to essentially throw away 2-3 ounces per pound (16 ounces) which is what happens with higher fat content. So, the 4.4 lb package I bought, 12 ounces, which is 4 ounces shy of a full pound(16 ounces) was fat, which dissolves into liquid (fat) when cooked. Nasty.
This is my regular pick as it's the only one with less fat but I absolutely don't believe it's 93% meat and only 7% fat . l used to buy it it Irvine CA and Chicago IL and both seams like 7% fat . In Atlanta GA I get it from Gresham store and even at the first look iits not as fat tree as supposed to be and when you cook it there is a lot of WATER in it and a lot of FAT comes out . It's good Walmart check the quality of this item .To me it's obvious the producers injects water to the meat then grids it with a lot a fat . This meat is like 85% of other stores .l just buy it because it's cheaper than 93% in other stores but this is not a excuse for Walmart not to qualify check this item .
You know I got to the point where I wouldn't buy anything but the 93% lean but every time I purchase it or the 80% it's brown it's disgusting. It's not fresh and I don't understand how come all of a sudden there's an issue as long as you bought the higher end, it always tasted fantastic. It was never an issue. You didn't have to worry about smelling and looking now it's gotten to the point where I've spent so much money and lost so much money. I don't want to take that chance anymore.
I've been buying this same kind for years!! the last 2 packs I bought, 6, not 93/7 they didn't even look the same %26 was fatty %26 i had so much grease in the pan from hamburgers I made. I also had grease stuck to both hands after patting them. I bought a pack yesterday %26 had to drain the grease out. I have never had to drain it (one reason i buy that kind). I believe they are putting lower quality hamburger meat %26 still charging the same price. shame on you, Palatka Walmart!!
This package of ground beef had many small fragments of bone in it. I used it for several meals and had to stop chewing my food to pick pieces of sharp bone out of my mouth. I have 3 more baggies of this meat in my freezer and don't want to use it now.
