Used this for spaghetti sauce and it turned out great. The meat was fresh, with no weird smell or excess liquid, which I appreciate. It cooked evenly and wasn't greasy, so I didn't have to drain it. I also liked that when I cut the tray in half, then in half again, each quarter fit perfectly in a small freezer bag, super easy to portion and store. The price is higher than fattier options, but it's a healthier choice and worth it for me. Great quality. I'd buy it again.
937 Fresh Ground Meat has completely changed the way I cook at home. One of the most impressive things about this meat is how incredibly lean it is—there's barely any grease, even when cooking in a hot skillet. Whether I'm making burgers, tacos, meatloaf, or spaghetti sauce, I've noticed a dramatic difference in the amount of fat left behind compared to other ground meats I've used. Normally, I expect to spend time draining off excess grease or dealing with that oily layer floating on top of my sauce. But with 937 ground meat, there's almost nothing to drain. It cooks up clean, holds its shape well, and still manages to stay juicy and flavorful. You can tell it's high-quality meat with minimal filler or fat. The texture is fantastic too—meaty, not mushy, and it browns up beautifully. I've used it in everything from weeknight dinners to meal prep, and it consistently performs well. It's also great for health-conscious eaters trying to cut back on fat without sacrificing taste or protein. Another bonus: the meat doesn't shrink much during cooking. What you see in the package is pretty close to what you get on your plate, which means you're really getting your money's worth. In short, 937 Fresh Ground Meat is a step above the rest. It's lean, clean, and flavorful—the kind of ground meat that makes you feel good about what you're cooking and eating. I honestly won't go back to any other brand.
This is the only ground beef I buy, for both price and quality. It cooks up with very little fat, yet remain flavorful. I don't recommend it for burgers, which hold together better when the fat content is higher, but for everything else, this is my go-to.
Bought it in the bulk package that brought the price per pound down. Would only recommend if cost effective for your budget. For 93/7 I thought it had as much fat as 90/10 or more. Flavor about the same as all radiated meat these days. With walmart's buying power I would think they could afford to pay domestic ranchers what they're worth rather than importing beef for less $$ and charging more $$$$. I live in a small town and it disgusts me that they ran local grocers out and offer substandard substitutes. Do better walmart!
Just a little pricey for burger! HOWEVER it is 93% lean as I like it (I hate fat/grease) but I simply didn't really check the price, just the size and made my decision. I use a lot of burger at home with tacos, goulash, meatballs, sloppy joes etc so there was no issue with it going to waste... Just a tad pricey; sticker shock after the fact!
I don't know what they're doing to the meet these days but I have never seen the way hamburger has changed as far as freshness, quality, and tenderness when cooked. Something's going on and I have yet to find regular, natural, old-fashioned hamburger like I used to buy before they changed everything. I'm not the only one that has noticed it and I don't like it! I do use this hamburger on occasion to make chili and it's delicious, but I have found the only way to make it soft and fall-apart-tender, like it used to be in the old days, is to add a large bottle of V8 juice and actually simmer it in that, most the day and only then, does it become soft and crumble apart.
This very very expensive product, 93% ground beef at $6.64 A POUND, is labeled as 4.5 pounds per package. I weigh out all my ground beef to freeze in 1 pound increments. Unfortunately, IT IS NOT 4.5 pounds!! Each package is short one half pound. It does not sound like a lot but just imagine the profit off our dollars paying for something that is not as labeled/advertised. No more middleman?!? Fix it!!!!!!!
Where to start! The meat had bone shards that could just about break your teeth, the fat content rendered was far greater than 7%. And finally once cooked the texture was mealy, gross. I don't know if they have an in house butcher or it's shipped in this way. But they need a new butcher, this guy/guys suck!!
This package of ground beef had many small fragments of bone in it. I used it for several meals and had to stop chewing my food to pick pieces of sharp bone out of my mouth. I have 3 more baggies of this meat in my freezer and don't want to use it now.
The entire pack was bright red on top and from half way through clear to the bottom was dark grey. I tried to refrigerate it overnight to return but the smell was awful so I had to take it to the dumpster outside. Absolutely the worst meat I've ever purchased. $35.⁰⁰ straight to the trash.
