All Natural Extra Lean Ground Beef 96% Lean/4% Fat, 1 lb

I am on a less than 3 grams of fat a day due to a recent diagnosis of Exocrine Pancreatic In sufficiently and this is very low fat with now an option besides fish and chicken . I'm happy that Walmart allows choices for different diets and is focusing on healthy choices.

I only get 96 four ground beef. Walmart is on a few places that actually keeps it in stock it seasons so well and it's flavor is amazing. Not to mention is very high in protein, which is the main reason why I buy it pricewise it could be better, but that doesn't stop me from buying it.

96% AHA ground beef. I love this ground beef. I frequently make it with potatoes. it has such a good flavor. you don't need much seasoning super great source of protein. you have to cook it carefully to keep it juicy because it is so lean. I just do a hard sear on number four in my stainless stee skillet. flip it over, turn off and cover and it stays so juicy and yummy.

My 90 year old mother cannot eat high fat meals. This is a reasonable treat for her, and appears to agree with her. The flavor is good. That said, cooked into a burger patty....it's dry, as you might expect. Works best in meatballs, with added "moisturizing" ingredients like onion and bell pepper, served with marinara, it's very good. Bugers? 3.7/5; okay but just barely. In sauces or as meatloaf with lots of onions and peppers, 5/5. Good lowfat beef for people who can't tolerate a lot of fat.

There are several things I like about this product - its in a vacuum sealed package which extends freshness and protects better when freezing. Its in a square shape which makes it a breeze for storing and stacking. TIP: For the most tender, melt in your mouth experience, place this beef in a bowl, mix 1/2 tsp of baking soda with 2 tsp of water, pour over the beef and gently work it into the beef - do not over-knead, wait 20 to 30 minutes and proceed with cooking. Better browning for your hamburgers, juicer and more tender meatloaves, tacos or anything you use with beef. Using Beef Tallow for frying hamburgers or cooking is highly recommended as this only has 4% fat.

Wish Walmart would not have done away with the other type of package of 1 pound of 96% lean ground beef. I don't care for this one. I guess the taste is okay, but other one seems to taste better. Also, this package was difficult to open without it being messy. Other packaging easier to open. I don't buy things again if they are too difficult to open.

The taste was quite good and freshness too! The package says 96% lean/ 4% fat. As preparing the meat it was strewn with white fat small and larger white fat throughout the meat. It took over 45 minutes to remove a speckled meat that looks as if it was colored reddish to camouflage the fat. It is very unethical and unfair to shoppers who have real issues with high cholesterol or heart conditions.The labels says heart association and heart healthy in other words. This has happened most every time. I just finally took a moment to mention our disappointment in the beef saying 96%fat when in reality was 80-85 fat-free. And this is being generous in this analysis. The loss of meat in trying to remove an over abundance of speckled with fat meat- was a loss. Just letting you know an honest review. The taste again was enjoyable and the smell as cooking. Thank you for your time and consideration of the quality and need of truthful or careful analysis of product's content. It is dangerous for many buyers.

I actively avoid buying the meat sold in tubes. It's soft and mushy and is terrible for things like burgers or meatloaf. It seems like the quality of this meat has changed along with the packaging. It's wet, mushy and reminds me of tube meat. Unfortunately no other stores in my area sell extra lean ground beef. For now I can buy the 2.5lb pack which still maintains the same quality and texture the 1lb use to have.

I was under the impression that this was grass fed Angus meat and it looks like they just packaged it the same way that they do the grass fed Angus meat? Don't get fooled. I was also concerned about the amount of fat that came out of it when I cooked it? It was the same amount of that that comes out when I cook the the 93% lean?

Not sure what this is but I'm pretty sure it's not ground beef. Ever since they changed the packaging, something also changed with the beef. It's way more fatty than what they are saying it is. Doesn't even taste the same and it doesn't even look like ground beef out of the package, looks like a paste. You are better off buying the 93% with 7% fat and it'll be way less fatty than this stuff.
