These are interesting in that they do not have elastic running the length of the sock but only around the sock. That makes them easier to put on and may help them stay up. Nevertheless, they don't stay up perfectly. They are comfortable and feel like cotton.
Good fit, better than Jobs and sockwell. Also one of the only companies that have 9-12 size designation. Most are 10-13 which makes the heel ride up high behind the ankle for a size 12 person and also make the sock rid almost over the knee. Very uncomfortable. But these socks fit like they are supposed to. I am quite happy with them and will buy more in the future.
I wear compression 20-30 mm compression socks. I also need to wear natural fiber socks because my legs and feet swell with nylon socks. The socks that I wear are either a wool and bamboo rayon Compression sock and I have added the Allegro 83% cotton sock to my collection. My initial order was for 3 pair in a men's size large. I received 2 pair in an extra large size which I kept, and the third pair was size medium which was returned for replacement. The replacement order that I received was a large size, which fit comfortably. They are thinner than the wool and Bamboo socks, so I can wear the Allegro socks with all of my shoes. . would like to wear some pastel colors in the spring and summer, light blue, yellow, and a light pink. Please let me know if thes pastel colors can be made available
I like the socks. But I normally wear X-large support sock. I wanted the brown color, but in the XL size. So the Large size is about four inches below my knees.
I love these socks, but the foot is enormous (I can't stuff the sock and my foot into a shoe) and the length too long. (I have to fold them down) They are unisex and even using Allegro's size chart, they're still too big. I will order the next size down and see if that works. As for the ones I bought, I'll just use them around the house.
I was lead to believe these are COTTON compression stockings when I ordered them. They are actually SPANDEX and were very difficult to put on and remove. They made the swelling in my feet even worse. I regret not choosing the looser 10-20 mmHg ones.
I selected a small to get the proper ankle measurement (the most important measurement). I wear a women's size 9 shoe. This compares to a man's size 7. Allegro's unisex sizing makes that a small for a man or medium for a woman. That sizing doesn't make sense but I thought the small would be ok. Turns out the foot is too tight and in addition the calf is too big. Also the stocking length is a little short so they always feel like they're falling down. Unfortunately I washed them before trying them on. I wish I had washed just one of the three pair I bought. That way I could have returned two pairs. Disappointed. These are not quality compression stockings.
I have to give the hose a 1 star rating because the unisex size doesn't fit a woman. It was too long, pinched me in the calf because they were too tight but the feet were way too long. The only things positive is the price and the cotton component. It was the only Allegro hose that has cotton which I require. They just don't fit because the size is made for a man, I didn't return them because the price was so reasonable and I'm disabled so I will just donate them. I loved a Allegro partial cotton hose in the past but they no longer carry the model 182 which were perfect. They were women's hose. This model is also part cotton which I need but it is a unisex and totally inappropriate for a woman's calf and feet. I found another brand with a women's hose and cotton that fit but they are 3 times more expensive than these. Very disappointed because Allegro is so reasonable.
Terrible quality compared to what they used to be. My husband had the original cotton Allegro compression socks for almost 10 years (seriously). No holes, no loss of compression. Had new Allegro cotton compression socks less than 2 weeks & 2 pair had holes in the same area…where the sole was attached to footbed. Brightlife is standing behind their products & is giving us a full refund as we ordered 4 pair.
