I only buy Allen soft cases. They are tough and the zippers are strong. I just needed a very basic one this time. It has a large zip pouch for accessories, which is not available on a lot of soft cases actually costing more. It's long enough for most rifles, but always know what size you need before ordering any case. As they say, "Measure twice, cut once!"
I like the shape, pocket, and trouble-free zipper. If you like thick padding, Allen offers thick padding at higher price points. This case is thick enough for the price point, and all a lightweight rifle needs. I am not one to expect premium padding in an economical case, and am pleased with the low bulk, along with adequate protection. The big pocket is quite useful. I bought 2 cases, one for a short-barreled CZ 22, and I put a Mini 14 Ranch rifle in the other one. The pocket holds 2-20 round magazines and a bit of ammo. Naturally, I must install a 5 round magazine for the rifle to fit into the case. Some cases can be tight with scopes, but this Allen case has plenty of room for a 2x7 with scope cover. A 3x9 would fit, though snug, assuming a person goes no higher than the factory rings. I am not obsessed with the color of rifle cases, but the black with red looks sharp, and is a particularly good match for a Ruger, but also a Savage. Just for fun, I tried the case with several short-barreled rifles I had laying around. A Tikka T3x with 20 inch barrel was too long, though T1x 22 is perfect. Savage Hog Hunter is too long for case. A CVA Scout with factory muzzle brake fit. SKS was too long. Short CZ 22 fit, though most CZs have longer barrels than my vintage rare model. Remington 7600 CARBINE 18" fit, other 7600s won't. I like the American made Allen case, and might even buy a third one for the CVA Scout. I got incredible value for my money. I don't know how Allen makes these in the USA at such a reasonable price.
I wanted to buy the Allen soft case made for Henry rifles, but it would have been cost prohibitive to spend nearly $70 with the shipping, and this nearly identical for a fraction of the price.
This is a great case for a small rifle like a 22. Very well made with a good size handle and storage pocket!
Perfect for my Red Rider BB gun
It was a perfect fit for my 30-30 with a scope
Well made. Great value for the money.
Allen rifle bags are always the best. Great value for the money. Walmart shipping is unparalleled also. Purchase is one day, it arrives the next!
Allen 42" soft side rifle case. Excellent price $17.97, but padding is kind of thin. I bought an Allen tactical rifle case for $19 a few years ago, and the padding is twice as thick. I bought this for a 38.5" lever action .22LR. I would say this is adequate protection for the average gun, but I bought a $459 Henry Frontier (octagon barrel). I probably will buy a better one in the near future, but will hold it in my hands to determine quality next time. When ordering a case for a rifle, the case size is the outside dimension, so order one a few inches larger than your gun's length.
The wrong gun case was sent. I looked back on order and it was correct just received wrong one. It had to be sent back because it was too short.
