Almay Shadow Squad, Unapologetic

I received the Almay Squad Eyeshadow Ambition for free in exchange for an honest review. I'm actually not a huge make-up fan and only wear it for special occasions. As a result, I'm not a make-up coordinating pro, and I prefer a natural look. This Almay product was perfect for my needs! Ambition was a great pallet and allowed me to use a few different hues and colors that were pre-matched and guaranteed to look great together. I loved the naural tones and hint of shimmer in two of the shades. Just enough sparkle to be subtle and not obnoxious. Great for my taste! This product does NOT come with an applicator, but I keep a package of applicators handy and sometimes even just use my fingertips for eye shadow application. Almay happens to be my personal choice (and my dermatologist's top choice) for make-up due to its high quality, hypo-allergenic qualities, and reasonable price point. I hope Almay continues to carry this color combination and product for years to come. Will definitely purchase!

This review is for Almay Shadow Squad eye shadow in, “Ambition.” I typically do not wear a lot of dark make-up, so I was very pleased to see that the matte colors in this quad went on light but were very buildable, so I could make the color as dark or as light as I wanted. Even though it took a couple buildable layers of pigment for the matte colors, which I didn't mind, the shimmery and glittery shades in the quad were very pigmented and were able to go on with one swipe. The eye shadow wore well, and I am very pleased with this product.

I received the Almay Shadow Squad Eye Shadow from the Walmart Spark Reviewer program in exchange for my thoughts and opinions on this product. I am reviewing the eyeshadow color they call, “Ambition”. When I first opened the compact, I was worried about the color. It looked very brownish. Once I applied to my eyelids, it looked different on the skin then in the compact. Instead of being shades of browns it appeared it was different shades of purples. The Quad is not as large as I had expected considering four colors were in it. The height and length are the same as a AA battery. No applicator came with the eyeshadow compact, so you will have to get one of your own. I was not happy about that since I didn't have one on hand. When it came time to apply the eye shadow it went on very smoothly. The colored lasted throughout the day. I had no creasing in the center of your eye lid. I liked the four colors that came in the compact. They complimented one another and allowed for mixing and matching the colors as the time of day (lighting) called for. Even if you plan to use all four colors at once, the different shades will look great for shading etc. I'm very please with this product and would highly recommend to others.

I absolutely love this Almay Squad Eye Shadow in Ambition. The color is very pretty with a brownish gray tone. It comes with 4 different eye shadows which all coordinate and go over well with each other. They look very nice layered. One is very sparkling with glitter, one is matte deep chocolate brown, the other 2 are a little glittery and more muted lighter brown colors. The case is nice and easy to open and close securely. The only thing I would change is I wish it came with an applicator or at least space to put an applicator. I like to carry my makeup in a cosmetic bag in my purse so applicators in the makeup is very handy. Other than that I really like this eye shadow. I have never tried any Almay makeup before and I have been very happy with this so I plan on purchasing more Almay products and giving them a try as well. I would definitely recommend to everyone!

This eyeshadow set is a very nice set of colors. They go on without issue but you need to apply several coats to even see the color. That is my beef with them. They are probably fine for a paler person but not on a medium skin tone. They go on smooth, leaving no dry areas, silky smooth but wish the colors were less transparent. I would still recommend them to people that are with/without allergies and may like the lighter colors.

I get what they are trying to do with this eyeshadow quad, make a monochromatic look with different dimensions and textures. It's totally trendy right now! I note that you get a decent amount of color in one swipe, a little goes a long way. Also, make sure you use primer because it will crease quickly on you. The quad comes in very compact packaging makes it ideal for traveling or in your purse. This is a great way to add monochromatic schemes to your makeup routine.

These colors are on the warmer side. They are very beautiful but are hard to transfer and take a lot of effort to build. Even just using my fingers I had a hard time searching them. The makeup is very soft and I love the packaging, I just wish they transferred to the skin easier and were more buildable.

There was nothing special about this eyeshadow. I used it a couple of times and that was only to do ombre effect on the eyebrow. I don't wear heavy makeup or even wear more than lipstick or gloss everyday. This is something that you could get the same effect as a dollar store product. maybe it will be worth it if the ingredients were natural didn't include any LED or metallics or something poisonous. As far as eyelid coverage I was just not wowed. I did receive this complementary to the spark reviewer program but I wouldn't go out and buy this product.

Ok, lets start with the good: The pressed powder stays intact well and doesn't crumble under normal pressure. This case is very small, so it won't take up a lot of space. It does have a bit of sparkle. Now the bad: You can't see any color. I ended up adding this on top of my matte colors to give them sparkle. Also there is no applicator. I suppose this would be good for someone who is starting out with makeup, but for most it just adds sparkle.
