The sound is real fine. After buying my marvelous speaker I've bought 2 more as gifts. My phone and it's Altec speaker are good companions for me with music
I have never been impressed with any of these small bluetooth speakers ... until now. Who knew you could get such great sound out of an inexpensive speaker. I would say it matches or maybe even better than my Bose soundbar when you look at price comparison.
Bought two of these to pair and place on the corners of my hot tub. Sound is good and the volume is plenty high to overcome the sound of the jets. Easy to pair to my phone and each other. The Charge seems to hold all day switching the speaker between the pool and hot tub. I set up the speakers on both end of the pool and I pretty much maxed out the distance but it worked well for the most part although I noticed some interference a few times throughout the day. I cant comment on the durability or how waterproof they are because I have not submersed them under water but good to know I can place them next to the hot tub and pool without worrying too much about them getting wet. Considering the relatively low price thats not much of a concern anyways other than the inconvenience or replacing one or both of them have if necessary.
Love this, works great, wonderful compact size, and great sound. The streamlined size makes it perfect for listening to music and podcasts in my car (I drive an old car with no Bluetooth). It also works well outside near the pool and/or fire pit. EASY to set up and connect.
My friend bought one of these little speakers for his 65 inch TV and uses it as surround sound. It has amazing bass and gets pretty loud. That prompted me to buy my own, which I use while kayaking and it floats and still plays in the water. Its durable, bluetooth connection reaches about 100 ft and seems like it will last a long time, highly recommend :)
it can be linked to a second one(be it the same exact model for sure)! this is really nice because the sound is good. the thump is there but you have to have it facing away from you to feel it...put on ontop of the other and you get some really good sound. or you can place one on each side and have stereo. Not sure it's left or right for either, but great for a small little house party with the kids. put on in one room and the other somewhere else(near by), and you have music through the house for about $65(price for 2 at time of this review). I didn't know it had the feature to link them till I opened the package and read the little pamphlet instructions, so I bought this one and when it came in it was as easy as link one to your phone, turn on the second one, hold down the link button on both for about 3-5 seconds, they will both make a distinct beeping noise, and your all set! pros: can be linked to a second one, has good sound, has a good amount of thump, lasts fairly long(when sound is maxed). cons: if the bit rate is too high on certain songs the sound can get a little distorted(using Spotify on best quality), near a router with both speakers it will sometimes have an issue with playing the music without stuttering. conclusion... I definitely would suggest buying 2 if you have the money to get it. I wouldn't suggest using it near your router(read above), and most of all, enjoy the music/movie/streaming services. TL;DR - get 2, sync
I just purchased the Altec Lansing Jacket H20 4 Bluetooth Speaker- Black to replace a different brand that I purchased last year that stopped taking a charge. II purchased the old box to use with a portable projector and laptop for presentation to small groups. It worked adequately in boosting the sound level from my laptop, but the quality of output was always disappointing. Not so with the Altec. Clear, distortion free sound at impressive volume levels. The Altec really delivers. I haven't tried submersing the unit, but living on a lake that is likely to happen this summer. I will update this review if any problems develop. Lastly, I was very pleased with the price and delivery. It was less than comparable units from the other main online seller and deliver was jus two days. So I am very pleased.
I am generally pleased with this speaker. It packs a lot of sound in a small package. I wanted a dedicated Bluetooth speaker for my iPad, and this fit the bill, and is very affordable. If I had one complaint, it would be I wish they designed it to not only lie horizontally, but to stand vertically as well. Then it would fit my treadmill cup holder space better. That's just me, and it doesn't take away from the quality.
This speaker sounds bigger than it's small physical size might indicate. Not really impressive in terms of bass response but adequate. It makes up for the lack of bass with impressive midrange and treble sound reproduction. It's 2 speakers accurately reproduce stereo when hooked up with a small portable stereo radio/Mp3 player. Using an auxiliary cable produces noticeably better sound quality than when using Bluetooth. Not worth the $50.00 in store asking price because the Tronsmart Mega Force BT speaker can be had for $52.00 at Walmart online and while that speaker is is larger but in another league as to sound quality(20 20 Watts RMS)so it's well worth going to the larger size. I paid $25.00 plus a $6.00 shipping charge for this H 20 4, so it's is worth that price for a micro speaker in my opinion. Subtract 1 star because Altec Lansing doesn't list the power output(I'm guessing 6 6 watts or maybe 8 8 watts RMS, as it's volume limited). Still highly recommended at $25.00.
Could be louder... I bought this when my Altec Lansing Babyboom XL (smaller) quit charging think the bigger size would be an upgrade. The Babyboom XL (smaller model same brand) is louder than this one. This is a good quality speaker, Im just disappointed because I thought it would be louder.
