Excellent chair!! I am very impressed with everything from fast shipping to ease of putting it to use to the sturdiness and speed of the chair. Along with the very affordable price!! It folds quickly and is very comfortable. You can't go wrong with this little gem
I've had my alton electric wheelchair for some time now and never had a problem. Sturdy tires, and I've driven over some stuff. I could be out 12 hours in it and come home and it's still three fourhs charged. I love the independence of being able to go all over the city without having friends or family take me. I use the sidewalk or side of the street. There are 5 speeds on the chair. I use the lowest speed at home and 2 or 3 outside. The kids have to run to keep up with me on 2 so I can only imagine that this flys on 4 and 5 keeping up with cars. I refuse to try it. It folds up down the middle of the chair like a regular wheelchair. When I do ride in a car my son puts it in the trunk easily. The only assembly I remember is putting the joystick controller on the armrest. Left or right. That easily screws on with your fingers. I weigh 250 pounds and I fit in the chair snuggly. If you weigh more get a bigger version of the chair from the manufacturer. This is a good manufacturer. All I know is I can't imagine getting around without my alton since I am no longer able to stand up for long periods anymore except to get in my chair then I'm gone. Worth every cent. I'd buy it again hands down. Nothing was missing. Shipped well. Easy to assemble. Arrived on time. Took 5 days. Came from California.
For context, I'm an ambulatory wheelchair user. I have POTS and hyper-mobile joints, so I can only walk short distances. I got this because my manual wheelchair was too hard to use often because of my joint problems. Especially on flare days. But this has been a game changer! I can go out so much easier now and going out independently is an option for me again. It can go through grass, bumpy sidewalks, and I've even gotten through some sand with it at the playground with my son. It's given me my life back. I can enjoy my life without pain, fatigue, or the risk of fainting. I cannot praise it enough! The battery life is good and it's easy to control with a little bit of practice. I highly recommend it.
We love the chair. Set-up super easy, came with a nearly full battery, almost completely all together all ready. Just had to put the joystick in the hand rail and tighten it up then unfold a few things. It is plenty fast enough. It definitely seems to be all terrain. It seems to stop from rolling backwards. It's very easy to operate. Also came with a full tool box with misc. tools to tighten or make any adjustments/repairs in the future. We love the price!!! And the financing option makes it affordable for everybody, so thanks for that. My only complaint is the video is a lil misleading, showing the elderly woman closing her trunk-implying it's light enough she put in there herself- it is not! It's prob about 40 lbs or so- but otherwise great- folds down small- portable- fairly lightweight considering….
An amazing product that seems easy to use and reliable already! It has given my mother a sense of mobility back.
Comfortable in all ways, except for the foot platforms which are better suited for a child than an adult. Feet are crammed in and legs painfully rub up against two welded brackets.
manual brake is very awkward. difficult to steer. it is lightweight which is valuable for transport. feels unsafe to drive which is quite unfortunate
Wheelchair seems to light in the front. my wife is scared to use it on inclines it comes off the ground and tilts backward very easily. Overall its construction is sound.
three times I had to wait 48 hours for a response from the seller they send me one out of three boxes which wasn't told during the advertisement that you have to put it together yourself but now I find out that you have to do their job as well and call the company and get your money or the other boxes that weren't sent so out of two customer service reps and two supervisors I have to make the phone calls and do the paperwork that they are getting paid for
The chair is too wide, and as a result, it's scratching the bottom of the room doors. Additionally, the wheels are uneven, and one is coming off. I'm so frustrated with this chair
