[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Im in love with the deep pour epoxy. I still have a lot to learn but really enjoying working with all the alumilite products.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Product was easy to use and the results were better than I expected. I used this to coat an epoxy/wood bowl that had a lot of bubbles and indents. This product helped to eliminate most of the issues I had. The bowl looks a 1000x better. I am a newbie to the lathing game, but this product will be one of my tools from this point forward. Looking forward to using the deep pour product in the near future.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works as expected. Would very much like to know the density of the resins. Working with small quantities is much easier if the parts can be mixed by weight.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first time making a bowl with epoxy and it worked great. Can't wait to turn it in a week.
I simply took some red elm scraps from other projects and glued them together to make a table about 4' in diameter and then covered with your deep pour to a depth of about 1/4”. Your product really accentuated the grain of the wood and guests who sit at the table repeatedly run their hands over it saying what a fantastic job I did on it. I tell them Mother Nature made the wood and Alumilite made the epoxy, I just put them two together and they made it beautiful.
The product works as per directions. Once cured, it turns well. It takes various dyes - powder and alcohol based. I typically enclose wood in epoxy and then turn an object from that casting. Deep Pour adheres well to various types and ages of wood - no issues have arisen with adhesion or separation of wood from epoxy. It seems that if yuo leave your casting too long the older the epoxy gets the more difficult it is to turn and chipping rests -- so don't let your casting sit around. For best results turn it within a few days of it being fully cured.
True to the label, it takes a long time to set up, but its well worth the wait. Depending on ambient temps plan on a good 36 hours before de-molding.
fantastic product, in this is the only epoxy I use.
First time epoxy user and Alumilite was very forgiving.
I use Alumilite's stuff and am generaly a fan of their products and the company. The issue is that the website and all downloads from product page say nothing about use on/with/around/in urethane. Printed instructions say to definitely NOT use urethane. Had to return. This oversite created a pain in the rear for me that could have been avoided. I am sure the product itself is great.
