Exactly as pictured. Good quality at a good price. Just what I was looking for.
I just purchase two of these sweat scrapers for the summer months for my two horses. Honestly I think it is the best sweat scraper on the market for the price it is lightweight, has a good edge to take the sweat and water right off, and is easy to store.
This is all you really need from a sweat scraper- it is simple and does the job. When we recieved it, it was bent in several places. Since it is aluminum, we were able to get it almost back to its original shape. No big deal! It does what I need it to do!
These simple and cheap sweatscrapers are tried and true. They are the best tool for the job. Don't get fancy colored ones or anything like that, just get the plain old metal one. Also, if you have a sensitive horse who doesn't like an aluminum sweatscraper, an untreated but sanded wooden one works fantastically. I have one of each in my bucket!
not much to review. it removes water. end of review
These sweat scrapers have been around from when I started riding in the 1960's and I love them. They are cheap and very effective.
I like the new sweat scrapers but they disappear. The old style is fine with me and I am glad you all had them in stock! They do not seem to be as durable as I had remembered and the edge could be more rounded. I would not recommend for that reason and I am careful with it.
I hate rubber sweat scrapers and find the fancier ones with handles and all that, hard to hold and don't work as well. these are cheap, last quite awhile, and I think they work better than the pricier ones. lost mine last show season and finally replaced it. it's amazing how much I missed it.
The scraper is a little thin/light weight for what I am used to and was hoping for. So I wouldn't say it is super high quality, but it is about what you would expect for the price.
As another reviewer mentioned, this thing has sharp edges. I won't use it on an animal until I sand them down. Which I plan to do, so I'm not returning it. But otherwise, it's a solid, old school, no frills scraper like I grew up using at an Arab show barn, where we hosed, bathed, and then scraped the slick water off training horses all day every day. I like the metal /metal with plastic coated ones better than the all plastic or the squeegee types for cleaning horses off quickly and thoroughly. And I'm assuming once I sand the edges, this will be what I'm looking for. But 3stars, bc sending a scraper with sharp edges is unsafe, especially to a newby who might not know any different. And it seems it should be an easy enough process for Smartpak's supplier to just finish their product with a beveled edge or sanded edge, rather than a straight, sharply cut one.
