Pretty good for the price but a couple of caveats.

pcguy February 3, 2026

These are a pretty good value for the money, but there's a few things to note. I ordered two of these a few months ago and they are the tallest plates I have vs Ethos and Wawafit (with Wawafit being the shortest). As I trained and progressively added weight to my deadlift, the Alvantor's would leave a temporary indentation in my home gym floor, which is horse stall matting (the roll kind). Currently I'm up to 300 lbs on deadlift for 3 sets for reps of 5, 3, and 1, so I ordered two more of these. I could tell when I first put them on the bar that one was taller than the other, and therefore is taller than all of my other bumper plates, so it'll leave a temporary indentation on my gym floor. The other Alvantors are 17 13/16" and the one is 17 14/16" (17 7/8"). I know, only 1/16 of an inch taller, but I may return them - not sure yet. Really I just want to replace the tallest one. A couple of other things to note is these and the previous two Alvantor plates (as well as the Wawafit ones), are 24.6 lbs each. Not a big deal to me for my home gym; just something to be aware of. The Ethos are both exactly 25 lbs each. The other thing is the ridge inside is not very pronounced so they are a bit difficult to lift with one hand. Since I can overhand grip 300 lbs while deadlifting I can handle them just fine, but I do prefer the ridge on the Ethos plates much more. All in all, not bad, especially for the price. Finally, a tip for anyone that may not know - rubber bumper plates will off-gas when you get them, so I set them outside for two or three days and that takes care of it.
