Great Watch, dependable always on time!
I have been very pleased with the GTR 2. I had previously owned two of the Samsung watches in which the battery life started out bad and only got worse in the first year, from lasting 12 hours to only lasting 3. I now own 3 watches from Amazfit and even my Bip that is two years old still has over a week of battery life on a charge. Amazfit makes great watches at reasonable prices.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had an Amazfit band and was impressed with it, so I was really wanting this watch. When it came out, I waited for it to go on sale, missed the sale and then it returned to a higher than presale price, bad start. It is to big. I measured my current analog watch several times to compare and thought it would be only slightly larger, it isn't it is to big to look good. It is surprisingly still comfortable though. I see less of my text messages with this than I did with my smaller band. With the band I got 5 to seven words on the screen, with the watch I get a line that says App notification, a line with a few words of the text, and a long message about checking for the rest of the message on my phone. I have tried multiple times to add music to the watch and have managed to get several copies of the same song but only a few songs, even when it works it tells me it didn't. They really want you to keep track of PAI (no idea what that is) but the step counter (you know the feature that started the wearable popularity) is terrible, only counts at best 70% of my steps. Pros: Stays connected to the phone way better than others I have tried Battery life Cons: It is big enough that it is embarrassing to be seen with it next to other normal sized watches. Larger screen but you get less of your messages. Cheap small tracker has alexa, this should already be fixed. I still recommend this watch because staying connected to get my messages was my primary concern and I think that other issues will hopefully (but I doubt it) be fixed with updates.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great looking watch! I would replace the band and get a screen protector. But very functional beautiful watch. Sharp, crisp oled screen almost looks surreal. They offer a variety of screens to choose from.
The watch is very nice - design, ease of use, the app experience, GPS, on-watch calls are all positive highlights. The "cons", to me, are the notifications (whatsapp notifications, as example, are not well presented: sender name is truncated, body of message is sometimes not visible if there's 2+ messages...) and some specifics, e.g. the resting hearth rate is not measured consistently.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great battery utilization. Tracking of steps are very accurate. Feels light on the wrist. Spend time looking at the information available and the best face for your needs. Only issue with the band is continuous wear means taking the watch off once a day to clean the band and wrist. Not unexpected, just a new habit to get into.
Unlike the previous GTR, i did not see anywhere the case diameter size other than the 47 mm. Smaller case variant like 40-42, would have done the justice to people having smaller hands and even women. Other than this, technically everything is brilliant!!!!!
The watch itself works fine but the connectivity to bluetooth needs work. It will be fine for a few days then will have problems connecting in the morning will have to spend 5-10min trying to make it connect and sync. Watch and phone are never more than a few feet apart. And the most important is the promised “Alexa” that is still not available but is advertised as it has it already and can not get a straight answer as to when it will be available.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall a very good watch, needs some improvements on the software to make it better, like messaging does not get the full text, charging does not display time which is a bummer and not sure why World Clock app is not enabled on this watch!
It's fine as a smartwatch - it looks good and though the Zepp app doesn't have lots of watch faces, the AmazFaces 3rd party app has a lot. The battery life is very good. However, I bought it for health monitoring. Its heart rate monitor is on point, but its sleep monitoring is not very accurate. It always says I'm falling asleep later than I really am and doesn't recognize any naps. It also keeps trying to get me to sign up for its Sleep Aura subscription and there's no way to have it stop. I'm in the process of hunting for a new smartwatch that's more accurate, but doesn't cost a fortune.
