The 4MP resolution offers a clear, sharp video, which is a step up from my 1080p cameras. The human detection works well and helps cut down on false positives from my dogs or random movement.
The pan/tilt functionality is responsive through the app, and the two-way audio is clear. Setup was straightforward, and connecting to WiFi was painless with the Amcrest Link app. The night vision performs well in low-light conditions, easily covering my hallway. The micro-SD card slot is conveniently hidden inside the black camera body, highlighted in green in the image below.
The mobile app is functional but could be more polished. I would like to be able to turn off the Amcrest logo, but still keep the day and time. That feature is something that most cameras can do. I also feel the camera should be able to rotate downwards, a little bit more. I have the camera in my laundry room, and if I could get it to move downwards by 1cm, it would be perfect.
For the price, this camera offers a lot of value. Between the high resolution, smart detection features, and remote control capabilities, it's a great choice for home monitoring, especially for keeping an eye on pets, kids, or general indoor security. In my case, it was to watch my dogs while I'm at work, as they tend to wait for me to come home in the laundry room.
