This is still a top performer and is arguably the actual top of the am4 stack, altho its not a 16core like the 5950x the stacked extra cache has a higher impact on performance of the 8core 16threads that it out performs the 5950x in single and muiltithreaded workloads dispite having half the thread count, also the higher core count chip is devided into multiple CCDs so the latency of information between the CCDs via the io die slows its real performacne down meanwhile this chip with is single CCD and massive stacked L3 cache pulls out ahead in all testing and is the true bookend to the am4 socket,that can and will make the perfect chip for any am4 motherboard capable of powering a 105watt chip, and with some of the recent contreversy aroung improper vcc settings causing self distructice chips in the 7000series line, this chip may very well wnd up being the only example of a sucsefull 3d stacked product from this manufacturer for a long time, at least untile they nail down true and vigurus guidlines for there board partners to follow when desinging there firmware and tweeking there clock and multipliers...just sayin...look at the costs of the am5 platform and the costs of the 3D cache chips for that platform and you deside if you are ok with the real chance that the motherboard manufacturer will do something that will effective burn up all that money essentially in a pile on your lawn...now cosider the extrodenary cost difrence in an am4 platform with already tride and ture top performing ddr4 and very low cost top end motherboards and for the momet still cost effective supply of am4 chips and then keep in mind this is the BEST of that platform...now what you gona do...

Fantastic CPU for a great price -- definitely worth picking this up if you're looking for an AM4 upgrade, game regularly, and don't want to break the bank on AM5 for a few more years.

I received the item; everything was in the box like it should have been, and it works like a charm. I went from a stable 240 FPS on my AMD Ryzen 5 5600 paired with my RTX 4070 to an astounding 600-800 FPS on this beast of a CPU. Game: Fortnite. I definitely recommend getting a 5800X3D for your build.

A great processor for gaming that is still compatible with the AM4 socket for older boards. Shipping was much quicker than quoted.

They said don't get this if you do video editing but if 8 cores and 16 threads isn't enough to handle 4K in Premier I don't know what is. And I don't know how many of you are really overclocking, but not having it doesn't affect this CPU at all. Great buy
