I built a budget 4k gaming PC earlier this year with the am4 platform. three months in I decided to upgrade the CPU for better bandwidth and 1 percent lows. all my games run smother now and the 1 percent lows are no longer of the stuttering nature. this is a good budget CPU that is bundled with a nice and colorful cooler. it comes with thermal paste pre installed. it is fast and easy to install. it took me fifteen minutes, because I have fat fingers. it would have been like five minutes with slimmer fingers. if you have a computer on the am4 platform go with this especially if you like to game at 4k.
Upgraded after 5 years from a Ryzen 7 2700 and the difference in performance is amazing. Highly recommend this CPU for maximizing the use of older AM4 platforms.
After one month of using it in my newly assembled unit, it has been efficient and sufficient for both gaming and computational coding.
Sadly I had to make an return because I was an idiot ordering this for my laptop. but Is an great and valuable product.
Delivers about the same amount of power as the Ryzen 7 5800X3D for much cheaper, though ever so slightly slower in gaming and such. Didn't use the cooler it came with, so have no idea how good it'd run with it.
Replaced a second gen Ryzen 7 and it made a big difference in gaming.
