Ames 2942100 Forged Dandelion Weeder, 1.25" X 1.25" X 43"

Excellent, well made tool. I've used this same model weeder for decades, starting in the 1960's with the one owned by my father. This new one is a replacement for one lost in a divorce. I see no difference between the current model and the ones used in the past. The fork is a rugged, forged steel part. It's nothing like the cheap stamped forks found on some other weeders. Those cheap ones will fail and this will not. The handle is equally rugged and is the right length. I've spent a lot of time with this tool and you do not want it any longer than it is. It's the perfect length. If you want a quality tool that will last the rest of your life, this is the one. Yes, it costs a bit more than the cheap tools, but you'll only have to buy it once.

Excellent. Makes it easier on the back. Reason for four star rating. It is still too short for a tall person. I am 6'4" so I still have to bend over too much. Still a great improvement over what is usually available.

For it to work better, I had to sharpen it with a rasp. Not a big deal. The tool should not be used to help pry large/tough weeds out of their holes, as this results in a misalignment between the handle and prong rod. Other than that, it works. Only wished the head was wider, but the size is typical for a dandelion digger.
