A Great Movie Based on Actual Events
I purchased the Amistad DVD for my great niece's birthday. She's turning 17 and I hope sophisticated and mature enough to understand the concepts revealed in this movie. I don't live near her and have limited conversations with her but this is just one gift I got her. I'm hoping she understands and appreciates our struggles then and now.

Great movie!
The acting. Is excellent. It was very moving the first time I saw it when it came out many years ago. It holds up well and is a timeless classic.

An excellent, historically accurate movie. For those truly interested in the principles behind the founding of the United States Of America, this movie is a prime example of those principles at work. The Supreme Court argument given by Anthony Hopkins near the end of the movie embodies all that is good and just in our founding principles.

Disappointed in condition received
This is a gift. When received the package rattled. I opened the package and took out the DVD case. It rattled so I opened it. The DVD was not stationary in the DVD case. I don't know if there is any damage to the dvd.
