AMPEX Codazzi 2 Person Backpacking Tent

Tent is good size for one person and a small to medium sized backpack. A limited amount of gear/clothing will also fit alongside. Weight and pack size were favorable for backpacking. Footprint provided was also a nice bonus. Only major disappointment was the vestibule. Wish the vestibule was a bit larger. Also, when you open the tent door and vestibule door, if there is any moisture, it will end up in your tent. Need to figure out a way to pin the fly open so the vestibule door does not fall back down into the tent doorway.

I spent two nights in Haleakala National Park in Maui and if you've ever been there you know the weather can change rapidly. I experienced strong winds and rain and this tent held up and i'm super satisfied with it's durability and reliability!

can take out stakes and poles and get this thing super small for a backpack. less then half the cost of the big names and just as good quality

I had never even heard of this company, but just tried out my new tent on a backpacking trip and it's awesome. It kept us safe from a thunderstorm and swarms of gnats. I think it was a good value too for the price.

This is a great little budget tent, one gets a lot for the money. The tent has good construction and was engineering well for fit and function. I really like that the fly has four vents, this helps to reduce and exhaust condensation. The inside has plenty of pockets and added hoops for stringing up a light and clothes line. No need to waste money on big name brand tents, Ampex fits the bill and you won't go broke while doing it!

I got this tent back in February, 2025 to replace my hammock basked sleep system. I wanted a 2 man tent as a place to keep my gear secure along side me rather than out in the open. Having had this tent out on the trails a few times now, I can say this is a great lightweight tent, durable enough construction, and a budget friendly price point. I have set it up and shown it off to several friends as well as a great option for those looking to switch from a hammock to a tent. I love its weight, the intuitive set-up, and the multiple features for sowing and hanging gear inside. I highly recommend it.

I had this tent in 80mph gusts in a slot canyon and where my other tent collapsed on me multiple times, this tent held up and I ended up taking shelter with my friend in it. There are lighter options out there but this thing is so super solid I won't be bringing anything else out with me backpacking.

Great little tent. Easy to set up (even at night) and no issues at all while it's up. Light enough for easy carry and no issues getting it back in the bag after using. Very happy with it

I took the tent with me on a 3 day trip in smoky mountain NP and I love it. At only 4 lbs for the price it was the best option for my budget. It even rained pretty hard one night, and the tent held up great. Can't wait to use it again.

The AMPEX codazzi two person backpacking tent is really well made. It has enough room to sleep two people comfortably. It packs up small enough to carry around. It is easy to set up. My husband is happy to have this to pack in this military bag.
