This item is very easy to put together with just a few drops of glue. Unfortunately, the base cracked and had to create a new one. Some of of the plastic seems pretty brittle like its old stock. Other than that the model would be a great beginner grade kit for someome who just wants a quick, semi-detailed piece to assemble in less than an hour.

Pretty good model

Donnie May 26, 2024

The model itself is good. Everything seems to snap apart easily from the frame it comes in. Looks good put together. Only thing I did not really like, and this may just be my own ignorance with models, was that you do have to paint it to make it look good. Advertising it with the color decals did not give off the impression that I would need to paint.

Good for Budget Modelers - Sub-Par Quality

Samuel May 23, 2026

Cons: -Old plastic mold -> Lots of flash and lower quality. -Only eleven parts, and it shows in the lack of final detail. -Parts do not fully line up; which will leave medium-large gaps (particularly in the nacelles) if not filled with a combo of styrene and putty. -Aztec decals are nice to have, but for such a small model, they're far too contrasting to what we saw on-screen in TNG. I'd recommend going without them, but they're combined with other details that you'd want to keep, such as the escape pod hatches; cut carefully, I suppose. -All parts are molded in opaque plastic, leaving no option for lighting or clear parts. -The model uses raised details, which can make decals and sanding difficult. Pros: You have a budget model of the Enterprise D that has good proportions and fair-quality decals. Its low part count makes it easier to get right to painting / detailing. Recommendations: =If you're on a budget and willing to spend some extra time to tidy up an old mold, then I'd say this kit is fair; it's still better than some other budget alternatives. =Use your snippers with extra care; the rounded bulbs of the sprue like to make them slip, which can have you take off chunks on the model itself. =Cut around the Aztec decals; perhaps do some masking and manually paint them on with light shades. =To make the opaque buzzard collectors, deflector dish housing, and warp engines really pop, look into using chrome / silver paint under a coat of transparent paint. =Use masking tape liberally; it can honestly be a lifesaver for small details. =Have some schematics of the Galaxy-class on-hand; it can really help with making accurate adjustments to the kit.
