This was a great collection of stories by Amy Clipston for the holiday season. I have read almost all of her books, and I am always intrigued by how she just gives a little bit of a twist and changes things. This one is a magical collection that anyone who wants to get in the Christmas season would want to read anytime I would recommend it highly to anyone.
This book was given as a gift. The person receiving it said it was a book for any age. I would recommend this book for an interesting read
If you love Christmas and Amish definitely read this. I would tell you more but I dont wont the ruin it for you
"This is the best Christmas ever. I'm so grateful for our love---our evergreen love." What could be better than an Amish story about a Christmas wedding? How about four different stories that center around Amish Christmas weddings? In this new book, four beloved authors tease us with questions such as: Is it possible for two former sweethearts to experience a renewed love the second time around? Will a confirmed bachelor be willing to provide a home for a rebellious ten year-old boy and accept advice from a new teacher? Can two former friends mend their friendship or will a budding romance separate them for good? Should a widower open his heart to a new love and a new life? Each of these novellas is about 100 pages long so this collection is perfect when you're yearning to read but don't have a lot of time. Grab a cup of hot chocolate, prop up your feet, and lose yourself in these stories that show us that love can occur at any age and that Christmas romance is so very magical! An Amish Christmas Wedding is an enjoyable book that proves once again the love, admiration, and understanding that Amy Clipston, Kelly Irvin, Kathleen Fuller, and Vannetta Chapman have for the Amish way of life. I received a copy of this book but was under no obligation to write a favorable review. These are my own thoughts.
An Amish Christmas Wedding is a collection of four Amish Christmas inspired stories from four different well known Amish Fiction authors that I adore. These stories include: Evergreen Love by Amy Clipston Holiday of Hope by Kelly Irvin Wreathed in Joy by Kathleen Fuller A Christmas Prayer by Vannetta Chapman I enjoyed every single one of these novellas. I am not sure if I could pick one over another. Each one was sweet, delightful, inspiring, and such a pleasure and joy to read. I am going to give An Amish Christmas Wedding is five stars. I recommend it for readers who enjoy sweet Amish tales and those set during the magical time of Christmas. It is most definitely worth a read and not one to be missed this Holiday season. I received An Amish Christmas Wedding from the publisher. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
Four short stories that will have you quickly turning the pages, you can read one, but they are that good that you will be moving on to the next one. The stories are not connected, they contain good life lessons, the first one we had a young man who seems like he can't really commit, but keep reading maybe this couple or former couple needs to talk. The second, this young boy has been through so much, more than anyone should, especially a child. He did make me chuckle with some of his antics, but I felt he was crying for help! Can this ten-year old ever find a real home? Can best friends find their way to love, Kathleen Fuller gives us a couple who have been childhood friends, and then took it a step further with disastrous results. Can they become friends again, or more? Finding friends and family, and is it possible love? That is what the last story in the book by Vannetta Chapman offers us, as a widower and older single Amish couple try to find their way to a relationship. A sweet read, with feeling of loss and held together with the love of an older dog. You don't want to miss this one, and like M
An Amish Christmas Wedding: Four Stories is a sweet compilation of love stories by Amy Clipston, Kelly Irvin, Kathleen Fuller and Vannetta Chapman. Set in various Amish settings during the Christmas season we follow Amy's Lorene and Ryan; Kelly's Henry and Leesa; Kathleen's Mary and Jakob; and finally, Vannetta's Micah and Rachel as they all face their own triumphs and trials in life and within their friendships and growing romances. I truly enjoyed the entire book but I must say Lorene and Ryan's story is a true testament of trusting in God's timing and with Him all things are possible. I would really like to see a continuing story surrounding Lorene and Ryan's future and families. All four stories are wonderful reads that are sure to get you into the Christmas spirit while providing a glimpse of Amish Christmas traditions. I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest evaluation and review.
This Amish Fiction foursome is at it again with a new anthology of novellas, this time centered around, you guessed it, Amish weddings at Christmas. From the peaceful valley of Bird-in-Hand, Pennsylvania, to the snowy mountains of West Kootanai, Montana, these novellas explore very different Amish communities that all share a common love of God. Each story gives the reader hope in love, and the magic of the holiday spirit. It shows the Christmas season as a time when reconnection happens, and so does forgiveness. I highly recommend this collection. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Amy Clipston in exchange for my honest review. My words and thoughts on this book are my own.
Evergreen Love byAmy Clipston What a great story about second chances. It was sad that Lorene and Ryan ended their engagement. I think Lorene didnt really give Ryan time to explain why he kept putting off building a house for them. We sometimes make rash decisions in the heat of our emotions and regret them later. I couldnt wait to see what would happen when Ryan returns after being away for several years. Lorene learns a valuable lesson in sharing her feelings and allowing Ryan to finally open up to her. There is something special about weddings. Lorene and Ryan experience some awkward moments but God had a plan for them. It is a wonderful and sweet story of family, forgiveness and finding happiness. Holiday of Hope by Kelly Irvin Oh my did this story tug at my heart. Can I just give Tommy a big hug? The pain of feeling all alone in the world is hard for Tommy. Now after losing the last person he cared for he is shuffled off to live with Henry. This child need some compassion, guidance and someone who cares about him. It was sad to read that Tommy doesnt believe in God anymore. I can understand how hurt he is by losing family members. Sometimes we are mad at God because we dont understand why bad things happen. With the help of Leesa and Henry, maybe Tommy will let down his guard. Leesa is such a sweet character. You can tell right away that she cares about other people. I loved reading how Tommy slowly began to change and allow God to work on his heart. The Christmas program was fun to read about and I could tell Tommy was happy to be part of it. God has a way of leading us to water, doesnt He? Now you just have to drink. Wreathed in Love by Kathleen Fuller How fun it must be to have a wedding at Christmastime. The decorations are beautiful and families gather to share happiness and the holiday season. I couldnt wait to see how the author would use this wedding to get two people back together. Mary and Jakob use to date but that ended a year ago. Now they find themselves spending time together helping Marys friend with her wedding. I would love to attend an Amish wedding someday. I really liked how the story talks about friendship and helping others out. Mary has to rely on Jakob to help her with baking obligations when she is injured. Its the perfect setup for these two to rekindle their friendship and perhaps more. The author delivers a wonderful story about trusting . It can be hard sometimes to let out guard down and allow someone in. Mary is a great example of learning to trust God with her feelings and giving Jakob the chance to try to repair their relationship. A Christmas Prayer by Vannetta Chapman There are so many things I loved about this story. I loved that it focused on older adults, a dog that stole my heart and finding love. It was nice to be part of the tour as Rachel opens her home up to tourist. She answered questions from them and I loved how she did it with grace.
MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK This is a great collection of sweet Amish Christmas stories that I thoroughly enjoyed from four of my favorite Amish writers. And I could never even think of picking a favorite among these four stories!! I love them all! Amy Clipstons Evergreen Love shares Lorene and Ryans story five years after a fierce breakup. The two are attendants at their siblings wedding. My heart went out for these two as they endured their time together. Amy Clipston creates beautiful characters that develop so well throughout the story. I love the sweetness of the Amish families. A great calm Christmas story! Holiday of Hope by Kelly Irvin was such a fun read. I really enjoyed the banter between Leesa and Henry, especially as he told her how to do her job. Both a little feisty, it was quiet the scene! Using her wonderfully created characters that I grew to love, Kelly Irvin does an amazing job as usual, telling another wonderful Amish story, and a Christmas one at that! Wreathed in Joy by Kathleen Fuller gives another sweet second chance stories for readers. After the breakup Mary and Jakob find themselves a year later involved in preparation for a Christmas wedding. Ms. Fuller pins a wonderful story of love, forgiveness and second chances. I love how the story unfolds and we get a glimpse of this beautiful couple. And last but certainly not least, we have the finally story: A Christmas Prayer by Vannetta Chapman Vannetta Chapmans story involves an Amish Tour Company, which I loved because I dont read a lot of stories about this subject. Michael is a widower, and I think this tour company is the perfect job for him. And communication with the single lady, Rachel King gets intriguing and interesting for me! And what I would give to visit Rachels Tea. I can just feel the cozy little restaurant now. And I also enjoyed romance between a little older couple than usual. This book is a solid Five Stars for me! A special thanks to the author/publisher for a copy of this book. I am not required to write a positive review, the opinions here are mine alone.
