3 quarts will not hold a bag of sugar or flour. The lid has a straight handle to pick it up by which is likely to get broken since there is no sure way to grip it, especially if your hands are damp. The Harvest style is more likely to be around for awhile in your home due to the rounded curved handle at the top of the lid. However that style has no gasket.

They look stunning on a counter top and can fit anything you'd need, but they are not airtight. On top of that the seal that comes with them comes off every time you open it. Putting the seal back on every time you close the jar is so annoying, so I would not recommend this product.
