this is a great item i really love this .if you like to shred your own cheese from a block this is fast and easy it has a lock down feature that keeps it secure to your counter so you can freely use two hands ive also used it to slice potatoes and squash and mince onions i really love this it saves so much time and its easy to clean and use I highly recommend this product .

Shreds soft cheeses nicely. Hard cheese like parmesan you will need to be careful so as not to break the plastic housing.

Very quick shipping, thank you. I've sliced cucumbers, carrots, onions and potatoes. I haven't tried anything else. It did a great job on cucumbers and carrots. It did OK slicing onions, except the outside peel did not slice and was wrapped around the slicing blade. It sliced potatoes, but it also shredded a large amount of them. The unit seemed to have a problem with potatoes, making a clicking sound, and I was afraid it was going to break. I think next time I will use a regular mandolin slicer to slice the potatoes.
