Anker PowerCore 20100 -20000mAh Ultra High Capacity Power Bank with Most Powerful 4.8A Output, PowerIQ Technology for iPhone, iPad and Samsung Galaxy and More (Black)

So far I am very pleased with this charging device! It does take awhile to charge (12 hours so charge overnight), but that is how you know there's a lot of juice packed in to it. I am certain it will recharge my phone over half a dozen times before running out of juice. Great looking product too.

I'm a big fan of power banks. They are handy if I'm on a road trip, shooting a long time lapse on my phone, or just away from an outlet for some reason. They come in all shapes and sizes, from thin ones like the 1byone 10000 power bank to really small ones like the Anker PowerCore Mini: there's one for every use case. Today, we're taking a look at the Anker PowerCore 20100, one of the biggest in Anker's fleet of PowerCores. First off, let's look at the hardware. This 20,100 mAh power pack is 6.5 inches long and has a hefty weight (12.5 oz) to it—definitely something you'll want to keep in your backpack. On one end, you'll find two USB ports, and a microUSB port for charging the power pack. There's a button on the side for checking the current power level, but sadly, there's just four LEDs to indicate the battery level in increments; 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. While there's really nothing wrong with this method, I much prefer the LCD display on the 1byone 10000 power bank. I've been throwing around the term “mAh” quite a bit, and I've mentioned that this product is 20,100 mAh. But what does that even mean? According to GSMArena.com, “The milliampere-hour (mAh) is one-thousandth of an ampere-hour and is a technical term for how much electrical charge a particular battery will hold.” The more mAh a battery has, the longer that battery will be able to run. Of course, when it comes to phones, a 6-inch phone will not go as far on a 3,000 mAh battery as a 4.5-inch phone would be able to. But, when it comes to power banks, it is much simpler: the more mAh, the more devices it can power on a single charge. Armed with this knowledge, one would think that the Nexus 6P—with a 3,450 mAh battery—could be charged 5.8 times off of this PowerCore. However, a perfect charge is not possible because of battery capacity loss (energy loss caused by external factors). Some basic calculations suggest that this power bank has a 63% efficiency, so the reality is that you would be able to charge a Nexus 6P about 3.6 times. Here's how that lines up with other devices: iPhone 7: 6.4 times iPhone 7 Plus: 4.3 times iPhone 6S: 7.3 times iPhone 6S Plus: 4.3 times Galaxy S7: 4.2 times Galaxy S7 Edge: 3.5 times Nexus 5X: 4.7 times Nexus 6P: 3.6 times Pixel: 4.5 times Pixel XL: 3.6 times Calculation for anyone curious: 20100/phone battery mAh * .63. Now, how about the charge times compared to a wall charger? The charge times on the PowerCore 20100 will be the same as with a wall charger. This is thanks to the Power IQ built into this power pack. You don't even have to worry about plugging your device into the USB port with the correct voltage—Power IQ handles that too. Sadly, there's no USB-C on this PowerCore, so many recent phones equipped with USB-C will have to charge at the slower rate using a USB-A to USB-C cable. While the PowerCore 20100 is able to charge your devices as fast as a wall charger, be prepared for this power pack to take around 10 hours to charge itself (or up to 20 hours, if you have a 1 amp charger instead of a 2.4 amp charger). When you take a step back and look at this power bank, it looks simple—and it is—but there is quite a bit of engineering inside this product that makes it work extremely well. If you need a high capacity power bank, then I highly recommend the Anker PowerCore 20100. This is perfect for long road trips, flights, or just having around as a backup should you lose power.

In this day in age when everyone has an cell phone or some type of portable device that requires charging via usb, this PowerCore is an absolute must have. There is not many other portable batteries that have the same amount of power as this one does, > 20000 mAh, which means it will not only charge your device at the speed it was meant to be, but it will also maintain it's charge to be used again and again. To give you a real world example: I've owned this for a little over 2 weeks and I have been using this exclusively to charge my iPhone 6. It charges my iPhone as fast, or faster, than if it was connected to a wall outlet; approximately 2 hours. In those two weeks, I've only had to charge the PowerCore twice! That's simply amazing. The first time I charged it was when I first received it in the mail. With that being said, to charge the PowerCore, I used the included micro-usb cable and connected it to my Anker 5-port charge station and left over night and by the time I woke up the next day it was good to go. As far as what's included in the packaging you receive the PowerCore itself, micro-usb cable for charging, and a stretchy almost vinyl type carrying pouch. The pouch seems like it's a bit cheap because it doesn't really protect your PowerCore, but I think it actually is really great for what it is. There's a enough room for me include a lightening cable/micro-usb cable or one of each. It's really a nice touch that Anker included in with the PowerCore. Actually looking at the PowerCore itself, it is about the size of Hershey's chocolate bar, with the thickness of 2 or three Hershey's chocolate bars stacked on top of each other. I have the black color, and it has a matte finish so you don't have to worry about scratches or anything like that. Also on the top of the PowerCore is the non-evasive Anker logo and 4 LED indicator lights. The lights while hold while you're charging your mobile device. So 4 lights mean the PowerCore is full or near full, 3 lights is 75% and so on. While charging the light with the respective percent will flash to show you that it's charging and hold when it's fully charged. On the one end of the PowerCore you will find 2 usb ports rated at 4.8A and the micro-usb port for charging. Overall it's super simple, which is great because you don't need something like this to be overly complicated. Overall this is just a great product. The only con I can think of is that I didn't get a PowerCore with my power? Seriously, you won't be disappointed with this purchase. Don't be afraid of the name either, Anker makes great products. Like previously mentioned above I already own an Anker 5-port usb hub as well as Anker lightening cables, and some various Anker iPhone cases and all their products are top notch. They also have a great 18 month warranty so if anything happens your covered.

I've been using this battery charger for over a year now and it still works as well as the day I started using it. I go on several trips a year for work and I need to constantly be connected. My Samsung Galaxy S6 (now Galaxy Note 7) with a LTE hotspot enabled eats up battery quickly so it's always plugged in while working. The other port allows me to charge my tablet at the same time. Although not at QuickCharge rates, it charges fast enough for my use. I don't carry more than one micro usb cable / wall plug when I travel, so sometimes this battery is used to charge other people's phones and tablets overnight. And there is still battery left over the next day! It takes a while to charge this battery, but it needs to charge that whole 20,100 mAh so you just leave it charging overnight and it'll last you several days or weeks of on and off use. Even if I haven't touched it in a week or two, it still holds the charge. The LEDs is a smart and quick way to see how much charge is left on the battery. Just put a button on the side and it lights up to show you how much is left. There is no on/off button, so as soon as you plug it in it charges your device automatically.

Bought this over a year ago for emergency use. Finally broke it out during the COVID-19 pandemic for work from home. After a year on the shelf, it was still 100% charged. Charged my iPhone 8 from empty to 100% and it's still showing a full charge.

This one charges my S7 edge as fast as the wall charger does. Love it.

Love it. I like that it's not big and bulky. Holds a charge longer than the ones I have had.

The first year of service was great and now I can't get the product to recharge to more than 2 lights. That doesn't charge my iphone to full charge like it did the first year.

Worked for about 5 months, then right before my camping trip it wouldn't take a charge. Still won't charge. Very frustrating a charger that will not charge.

After a 24 hour charge the PowerCore power bank was unable to charge an iPhone SE up to 25%. Totally unfit for any charging application.
