Anomaly (with Exclusive Temporary Tattoo)

As the headline above states, the awesomeness flows throughout this album. I have to say I was slightly reserved on this upcoming album. While I am a fan of Ace's '78 KISS solo and first Frehley's Comet album, Ace's later works alternated between good and sometimes average at best work. This album though launches Ace back into the stratosphere. I honestly could not find a track I did not enjoy. This is in some ways a journey back to Ace's 1978 KISS solo album, but with a twist. It is new, exciting and refreshing, unlike some of the recycled garbage that some rockers are putting out nowadays (we won't name any names). For a thrill a minute, from the heavy rocker Outer Space, to the expertly done (IMHO) A Little Below The Angels, to the superb Fractured Quantum, this is a must have for not only Ace Frehley fans, but those wanting to enjoy some GREAT new Rock & Roll. From one of the top guitarists of our time, a definite classic!

This is album is great. If you are a fan of Ace's music then you will love this album. its a modern version of the 1978 solo album. foxy and free is my personal favorite. a must have album!!

We waited a long time...but Ace never disapoints! Not just a good guitar player - Ace is the BEST! Just ask the countless musicians he has influenced over the years (including the late, great, DIMEBAG Darrell). Show some respect - sure beats "KISS and the Imposters" - Sonic Boom (now thats disapointing)! Thanks ACE!

This is a good CD. I have to say that, to me, it sticks with me better than the new KISS CD. This is some nice work. I particularly like Genghis Khan. I would like to see Ace explore more guitar versatility and more guitar solos, but this is a good CD.

i've been waiting years for this release.ace toured this c.d. a year & a half before it was released.i'm not sure why.the songs are solid and well written,and delivered in classic ace frehley fashion.plenty of guitar and well produced by the man himself, on his very own "bronx born" record label.if you have any of his previous solo releases you will recognize the same writing & playing style all the way back to his time in the band kiss."outer space","space bear","foxey & free" & "a little below the angels" are all fantastic & worth the price of admission alone.buy it & rock !

Ace's best solo album since his 1978 "KISS" solo album...If a couple of these songs had ended up on the new KISS album...They would be unstoppable!! Brilliant album!! A++++!!!

This is one of the better albums that has been released this year. It has great guitar licks. if you don't lick this album you should just stop listening to music period!

Anomaly is overall a good album. Some of it is great but I know Ace can do much better, especially after twenty years in the making. All of his older albums were better and what is with the goofy pyramid puzzle box it comes in. Try opening that while you are driving.

I'm a long time Kiss fan and of course I'm a fan of Ace as well. I'm a musician (lead guitarist) and fan of rock, hard rock and heavy metal. I have to say I was a bit disappointed in Anomaly especially considering it was a 20 year wait for this record. I've actually listened to it 10 times now hoping that it would take a couple of listens to grab me like some albums do. But after listening to it 10 times I'm just not feeling it. The lyrics for the most part are awful. Here is a track by track review in my humble opinion: 1. Foxy & Free - I think this is a great opening track. Nothing special about the lyrics....but the rhythm is solid and it has a killer guitar solo. One of the better tunes on this record for sure. 2. Outer Space - I think this is a decent tune....but the lyrics???? "I thought I told you I came from outer space....that's how I know your name" or something like that. Regardless that's pretty bad and it may be cool for a star trek junkie....but not for me. 3. Pain In The Neck - This song sounds off to me.....something seems out of sync with the rhythm and it just sounds like it gets lost at times. The chorus is horrible. And of course....the lyrics aren't good. One of the worst songs on here. 4. Fox On The Run - A good cover. Well done. 5. Genghis Khan - Great tune. Hardly any lyrics (a plus!) and a very catchy grooving rockin rhythm throughout. Definite classic feel to it. 6. Too Many Faces - In my opinion this is my favorite track on the album and arguably the best tune on the record. The lyrics make sense and everything about the song is catchy, the timing is right on and an overall solid tune. 7. Change The World - How many songs are there about someone waking up wanting to change the world? Not very original and dull overall. 8. Space Bear - Great tune. An instrumental that rocks. I'm normally not a huge fan of instrumentals but on this record the less we have to hear Ace's lyrics the better! 9. A Little Below The Angels - A different twist for Ace on this one. I like the lyrics because they come from the heart and tell a personal story about Ace overcoming alcohol (for the umpteenth time now). If he stays sober for the rest of his life then I'll buy into what he says in the song. Until then the jury is out. Good tune overall though. 10. Sister - This sounds like filler material too me. I don't like this song at all. 11. It's A Great Life - This song sounds different than any Ace song I've ever heard. A nice tone on the guitars but again the lyrics....."To the left.....to the right" is how it starts off. Sorry I just can't see Ace steppin' or dancin' so that's hard to buy into. And the timing sounds off again like several other tunes. 12. Fractured Quantum - No lyrics! So it is better than most of the songs on this record. Part IV of his Fractured instrumental series doesn't disappoint. But it's not as good as the earlier versions. I like the direction he's going with the other two instrumentals on this record better than this. We've heard it before if you know what I mean. If you've seen one Rocky movie you've seen em' all. Same goes with the fractured tunes. Overall I'd give this record 2 1/2 stars. There are some nice moments but the lyrics are corny, uncreative and pretty much everything we've heard before from Ace, Kiss & other artists. The guitar riffs overall are average at best and the timing on some of the songs are off and sound like they get lost at times. It's hard to write this kind of review about the spaceman but I love music, I'm entitled to my opinion and I just felt a lot of disappointment with this record.

I'm a Kiss fan since '77 and Ace has always been my favorite. I would also love to praise this disc, but I just can't because it's so embarrassingly bad in some places. First the pros: it's produced & engineered extremely well with Ace & Anton Fig getting great sounds. Ace has some tasty guitar work of course, but the songs are just bad. The lyrics are junior-high level & the vocal delivery is quite corny. "Pain In The Neck" in particular is just painful to listen to. I love Ace, but this is a huge disappointment. I have to say "Sonic Boom" is much better.
