APEC Intense Stainless Steel Ultra-Violet Sterilizer Water Filtration Kit (UG-UVSET-1-4-SS)

I purchased a replacement stainless UV filter kit to replace the factory part that came with my water cooler. I had already purchased a replacement part two years ago from the water cooler manufacturer. That plastic UV light holder replacement broke spontaneously just the like the original. The APEC part is of a much higher quality and I am confident it will last as long as the water cooler. I needed the part rushed and your order fulfillment folks (sorry I cannot recall the fellows name) took the order at 5pm and got the part to us before noon the next day. The part installed in two minutes and we had potable water again. Thank you. My next purchase of any water purification equipment will be from you.

The best under sink UV filter I have seen, used or heard of. Bulb lasts longer than expected as well! This is the 3rd brand of UV filter I have used and the only one where the housing is still not leaking, all others leaked or corroded and then leaked. Glad to have finally found a quality product!

The item arrived with a leaking valve and I needed to fix it with some extra teflon tape. I placed the UV filter to the fifth stage in my RO-90 system but both the faucet and the water became warm the next morning. After doing some research, I moved the UV filter between the water source and the very first filter. Neither the faucet nor the water is warm anymore but the water temperature is still a bit higher than before. The UV filter came with a manual and all the accessories. The installation was not difficult.

When I received the UV sterilizer unit , I saw that there is no exterior light to see if the bulb is working. It's inconvenient to take out the bulb and look to see if it's on. The unit that this will replace had a visual outside feature. Why did they remove it.

Hose fittings need teflon tape to stop 1st leak. Screw on end nut needed silicon grease so it would screw on smoothly and not bind up before seating the washer on the tube. I also put grease on the seat of the washer nut to keep it from leaking.

It is very difficult to replace the filters. I could not open old RO unit! Also, the UV lamp replacement was not available and complete new unit had to be bought. Can you give me instructions or tricks on how to open RO filter unit? If not, the new holder would have to be bought. What is the order number for it?I have the filter already.

This was not compatable with our existing system. We are unhappy that you discontinued the part that originally came with our system and then forced us to purchase a replacement part that did not even work. We have had to have a plumber our twice to work on our system. He finally just disconnected the UV light. I would like to return the part kit for a full refund.

O ring leak developed after a couple of months. Could have caused severe damage if I hadn't caught it before going to bed. Not even going to contact APEC for this, going to try an source a new, better, o-ring elsewhere or just RTV the dumb thing because the UV bulb goes in without having to disassemble the UV housing.
