I received the Apple Barrel Acrylic Craft Paint in "Green Turquoise" yesterday. I have used the Apple Barrel brand and the Plaid brand of paints previously, and it appears as though those two brands have now merged. I noticed that the "Plaid" name was in evidence in several spots on the bottle. In any case, the paint itself is of very good quality. It goes on very smoothly -- without any bubbles or thin/watery areas. There is no need to used expensive/high quality paint brushes, because the paint applied very well with a cheap child's brush. The color was bright and clean. The color was attractive, but I would not really call it a "green Turquoise". It didn't have any "blueish" color in it. It really was more of a bright spring green. Pretty, but not actually what I hoped it would be. Clean up is also very simple -- it washes off skin with regular soap and water. No need to use toxic paint cleansers. It is also non-toxic -- a factor very important to me, because I like to do crafts with my young grandchildren. Overall, it is an excellent choice for any craft project.
My daughter always buys this brand and was super happy to get another new color. I have also used this paint to do the trim on my bathroom. I highly recommend this. I'm sure I will be buying more colors. My daughter made the vase in the picture and painted it with this orange paint
This blue ish green is one of my favorite colors! This is a great all around paint that can be used on the vast majority of surfaces so it's great for crafting, etc. I'm not a professional, but I'm happy with the performance. The gloss finish can be a lovely option depending on the project. Would recommend!
I love this acrylic paint, it is so smooth. I love the gloss of this paint also. During Covid, I resumed my sketching and painting. I paint with oil, and acrylic paint. I have found Apple Barrel acrylic paints to be one of the best acrylic paints around. I will continue to use it!.
I like this paint because it had great coverage on the things that I was using it for. I'm sure it would have great coverage on pretty much everything craft wise that you would use it on. And the color was very vibrant and the finish wasn't real glossy but a little I would like to have seen it more shiny but that's just me . I like the paint because it was thick enough it was not runny And when applying it went on very evenly. I also liked it because it washed off very easily from my brushes and didn't stain them.
I received the ABG 2OZ Tangerine Cream plaid paint about 2 weeks ago. I have always liked the Plaid line of arts and crafts supplies and this is no different. It has a nice consistency, goes on smooth, and the color is very vibrant wet and stays the same when it dries. The 2 oz size is perfect for the project I'm working on - I'm painting a Plaid wooden directional sign and it's turning out!
I picked five of these in coordinating colors to make some horrible art that I'd seen on YouTube. Each container is just the right amount to combine with the others and make a single large canvas. Because they are only 2 oz per bottle they basically are single use for this purpose. The turquoise is quite green. The glitter is just the right amount of sparkle but doesn't look like it has old school glitter just mixed in. It's more sophisticated glitter paint. I picked the metallic bronze one to tie in the wood fixtures of my furniture. I tinted the Navy a little bit lighter with some white. They were all smooth and consistency with no clumps. While it is suggested you shake them the product was consistent in its texture and pourability. I like this brand.
I have used these paints for many years on many projects including my crafts around the house and out in the yard! I love the colors and they always clean up super easy with water and a little soap. Now they have one that you can paint glass with! I will always have these paints around for my special birdhouse or garden sign!
This paint is great for all crafts and all ages. it is non toxic as well. the color is fun and bright. This paint is an easy and smooth application. It is great for adults and kids. nice packaging . Great quality and good coverage. It dries quickly too
The goods: Made by a brand I trust Has a really cool feature--when oven cured makes a top rack dishwasher safe coating for ceramics Is translucent enough for layering The bads: Covers very poorly (see photo) Requires an hour between coats; I estimate that it would take three coats to get decent coverage Has the same sheen as the Apple Barrel Satin (i.e., is most definitely not "Gloss") Even though it does cool stuff other paint doesn't (works on ceramics without needing to be fired and would look great for translucent flower petals), I just can't love this paint. It's blotchy, requires too many coats, and is really runny. It's just not pleasant to use.
