We love all the apple barrel paint and Walmart always has great prices on it sale or not. We homeschool and do a lot of art projects and crafts and it's so nice i can just have it delivered with our groceries. The consistency is always great, sticks great when applying it, dries nice- they have different sheens besides the variety of colors btw so definitely read whether it is a gloss, matte, or shimmery variety. Cleaning up is a cinch with just soap and water. It's always vibrant and covers very well.
there are a lot of reds so matching the color you want online is hard but the color was nice but thought it would be darker. great for crafts and easy clean up
I love that I can trust Apple Barrel acrylic paint to turn out perfectly everytime I pull them out to use. They have great colors, they all cover very well, great for crafts and I love the ease of use and they always rinse out of my paint brushes very well. Recommend 10/10!!
Apple Barrel is my go to brand for acrylic paint! The consistency is always there. The colors are vibrant. Dries quick and looks nice. Always recommend this brand for all of your crafting needs!
I've uised them for years and only had a bad experience twice, when the paint was lumpy and would not smooth out. But for the money, NO complaints, I use them for pours, r regular painting on various items. They cover well and mix well with pouting mediums. I don't understand the price fluxuations between colors at times, and will not pay $6-9 for any of it when it was as low as $,58 last time, but I just wait, the price goes down evenetualy. It's good paint. I especially love the blues/greens but the black is a solid black and really brings out all the colors.
I don't know if anyone does the math on value. The 2 oz bottles of apple barrel paints are .58 for Matte. This is 2.97 for 8 oz. The smaller one is 29c a oz and the larger one is 37c an ounce. You would think it would be the other way around. So buy more small bottles.
The only reason why I give this a four star rating instead of a five is because it feels like it was expired. I am not sure if that is a thing, but it was a bit thicker, like gooey than the rest of them. The others was a little bit paint like as far as the consistency, but this one was very like thick like gooey as if it had slime or something. I don't know if that's supposed to be because of the black, but I got other colors in the same brand and they didn't have that consistency.
I am sad to say this bottle was very disappointing. I've been using this brand for years in the smaller bottles. Usually only requires one coat. I am having to apply 3 coats and it still doesn't look thick enough. I love this brand I am hoping I just got a bad bottle.
Apple Barrel paint has to be the worst paint I have ever used. I switched asap to FolkArt. Apple Barrel is incredibly watery and runny. Will never buy again.
I have placed probably 6 separate orders of this paint, each time paying $2.97. This specific order o 6 charged me $6.41 for each bottle. The return/replace automated system is quite limited, and so I chose the best, but not accurate reason. Although I did write on the same form additional info what the problem was. Their response was for me to return the 6 bottles of paint, and then they would send me 6 bottles of the exact same paint. Yes, really. That was their response. I communicated that that action would not solve the problem, explaining the price discrepancy, but they sent me the 6 replacements anyway, instructing me at that time to return 6 bottles, or I would be charged for both orders. I wrote AGAIN today to offer a solution. I will keep all 12 bottles @ $2.97, and you will still owe me a very small fee. This situation is beyond farcical. This was a story that earned me hilarious laughs when I told my friends, but it is getting old very quickly. Jan Roepke
