It's an incredible machine that effortlessly handles all my requests no matter what I throw at it.
I picked this up for running OpenClaw. I'm not primary a Mac user but I have owned Macs in the past, every time I make the switch it's a bit jarring how different it is from what I'm used to, as well it can be a bit frustrating how opinionated Apple can be with how they want you to experience their operating system. Either way the Mac Mini is a fascinating bit of tech that I wanted to check out. - The first operating system that made a full switch from x64 to ARM - Microsoft has been dipping their toes in that water for decades, but never really committed. - Fully unified and shared memory with the gpu. Although Apple doesn't have a monopoly on unified memory, the fact that both the CPU and GPU can access the same memory without copying is a plus for AI work and defiantly worth trying. What I liked: - Nice clean design. Although I plan to shove it in a closet and remotely access it. It is nice to look at. - Low power use What I didn't like: - If you already own a non-mac keyboard and want to use it with a mac it is frustrating trying to use it with a mac. They already have a process of checking your keyboard layout, why don't they check to see if you're using a non-mac keyboard?!? - Power button is not in a easy access spot. I feel like this is Apple's passive-aggressive way to tell you to leave it on all the time. But it would be nice if they didn't force me to do things they way they think I should do things. - No usb-a ports?!? I'm used to not seeing usb-a ports on things but not a desktop that clearly has room for some usb-a ports.
