im not sure why all the bad reviews. if you like a soft corn dog, microwave it but do it in small amounts to ensure coating doesnt break and dog doesnt overcook. i reccomend flipping every 30 seconds. for crispy corn dog, use oven. i use a mini oven thing. i move it/flip it every few minutes. slightly under time to ensure dog again doesnt get overcooked. im guessing the complaints are from people overcooking it. gf foods have always been a chore. at least this is delicious and very enjoyable as someone who cannot eat regular corn dogs anymore or even find other options. excellent option, with inly complaint being the extremely high price. wish they could manage it a bit cheaper.
wow are these good! i hope they never discontinue them. please always stick around and have them readily available at stores. a little pricey but totally worth it. they have that classic sweet savory fair dog taste.
I have eaten gluten free since being diagnosed with celiac disease 14 years ago. It's been about that long since I've had a corn dog, and it was a great treat. Please keep making gluten free products!
We try to eat as healthy as possible. A few days after we eat chili we make grilled cheese or macaroni to use chili up. I saw these and thought it would be good with a cup of chili. We enjoyed them, we did bake them for 30 min which made them firm. They taste ok, not fantastic as they are not loaded with preservatives but fine tasting knowing they aren't bad for us per say.
As I've noted in several reviews, we have recently moved to natural / organic foods and products and I've given those items a 5-star rating. I wasn't quite as impressed with this product. The meat was good, but the batter not so much. A little pricey for not really enjoying them as much as expected (hoped).
These are... well idk .... I'll go ahead and say I'm like a Goat. I'll eat nearly anything. I've tried many many many foods and meats and so far all I didn't like were muscles. A loot of people are arguing about these. I'll say right now. If you are a health based person these will taste sweet. If you're more like your average American, they'll not taste too sweet. The crust around the dogs is quite sweet even as someone who prefers their corn dogs like that. I will state though that prior to being Celiac diagnosed I was keto. I have a decade of avoiding carbs and sugar already. Keep that in mind when reading my review. If you aren't used to the low sugar diet you will probably like these! if you're like me, and like your Cdogs sweet but not TOO sweet, they'll be.... meh That's okay though, as a health conscious person Corn dogs were kinda counted out years ago. but there are at least safe 🖤
Wouldn't buy again. It's $2/dog and supposed to be high quality beef- yet tastes like encapsulated chicken. The breading falls off once it's heated up. So you will just be eating sad chicken on a stick for $8. Applegate usually has good meat- this just wasn't up to their usual standards.
This was one of the most disgusting things I have ever eaten! The hotdog was old stale and rubbery tasting and the "gluten free" crust took all the moosture out of my mouth! It was dry crumbly, gritty and doughie at the same time! It is not a hard stretch to make CORN dogs made of gluten free CORNMEAL,be gluten free and not the abomination I suffered thru! My husband HATES wasting food and I have seen him choke down some bad stuff as not to waste food and he threw these in the teash himself! Serriously do better! Not to mention how expensive these were!Shameless!!
The worst corn dogs I've ever had in my life. Are you kidding totally inconsistent with the breading it's really weird. I don't like the way they taste going to throw them away. Ate one and a half heated up all four in an air fryer. Good they're crispy, but the flavor of the breading and the hotdog is very bland almost flavorless.
I wish I had avoided buying this gluten-free product. It's ruined me for life! This corn dog was the absolute most distasteful representation of a corn dog I've ever eaten. The dog part smelled weird and tasted gamey or like old meat. The texture was rubbery at best. The corn batter was ok for texture. Too bad the nasty dog infected it, as it might have been ok as a corn fritter. Do yourself a favor, buy the gluten-free corn dogs from Foster Farms, or make them yourself. Blech! :-(
