These are my favorite hot dogs. They're made with high quality ingredients. I don't eat hot dogs often so I'm picky when I have them. I made them in the toaster oven and it smelled like a cook out. Delicious!
Good quality hotdogs but not really worth the price. I bought these due to watching carbs and a healthier choice. The biggest problem I have is it only comes with 6 hotdogs, which should always be taken into consideration because you can almost never get less than 8 hotdog buns in a pack.
The taste was good, tezture good, a little too much smoke but not that over the top... just would prefer a little lighter touch of it. In all, probably the healthiest hot dog you can buy along with any other organic version, but I like the taste of these better than the organic ones. A good value I suppose for the money
This is a great product super convenient. I wish they would back down on the salt For us , people that need to watch our sodium, Or have a low sodium option! I take these camping all the time. That they don't have all the fillers and nitrates that other hot dogs have
These are good, they taste like quality ingredients not the regular mushy stuff. Hoping that the difference in taste and texture means that they are true to their claims that it is natural and uncured beef. They don't get fatter when cooked they stay basically the same size. Cost per quantity may be more but they are worth it because they just taste better and I likely won't want to go back to regular processed hotdogs after these.
If memory serves, the gentleman who started Applegate suffered a stroke several years ago, panicked, and sold out his good-food company to a conglomerate, at which time, the quality decreased, the price went up, and shrinkflation ruled the day-there's even one less hot dog in this pack than there used to be. If you are looking for grass fed beef dogs with no nitrates or nitrite, because let's face it, hot dogs commercially produced are inherently perilous, you won't find much, and Applegate products used to be a solution, but now what was once a viable solution is a tasteless tag line.
Doing a little research, these are supposed to be one of the top brands in the country. First off the were hard. Not just firm or really firm; they were hard and difficult to chew. If you're missing your teeth, you may want to pass these up. Taste was okay, but nothing to rave about. The think that really got my attention was that my dog didn't want to eat them. If my dog doesn't like it, that's good enough for me; I'll pass on them. Besides they are expensive.
I really hesitated to purchase this item online as the last time I did this the item was expired. I added it at the last minute because I really liked the taste of the hot dogs last time I had them. there is obviously a problem at Walmart if this has happened to me twice. are you not checking your expiration dates on a regular basis? and why do your shoppers not look for expiration dates when they are shopping for me?
We were looking for a slightly healthier hotdog. Couldn't finish a whole one and the garbage can got the rest. The taste is closer to a bad sausage. It's like expecting a hamburger and getting a veggie burger. Hard pass. Go with your norm. You'll be happier
Since these are uncured, I expected them to taste different than regular hot dogs. But, my gosh, I didn't expect them to taste as bad as they did! I had tried this brand's turkey sausages before, and they were excellent. So I had high hopes for these. But the taste was so awful I could barely eat them. Will never buy again!
