There are no active cultures in this product. I would like a refund if possible. I've been making bread since I was a child and my grandmother taught me how to make bread. This product seems to be dependent on gathering the yeast in the air in your surroundings. Therefore you are giving away your money for a little dried flour that was once hydrated. Don't waste your money here. Make your own by adding 1/2 C warm water to 1/2 C flour. Add one peeled and diced potato to the mix. Do not cover. Set it on the counter in a warm spot for a couple of days stirring occasionally until bubbles form. Remove potato after the first week. Add 1/2 C warm water 1/2C flour to feed and cover with a bandana. Feed every couple of days or refrigerate and feed once a week.

Product does not work. Should've taken the package back for a refund. Do not buy it. It's a waste of money.

I've been making sour dough for many. Many years I had actually started my own culture and decided that I would like to try san francisco sourdough. Not only did the culture not grow at all under optimum conditions, but essentially simply sat there and did nothing. as I said, I've been making sour dough from my own life cultures for many years. This product is just so not cool

I usually make my own starter, but got lazy. Couldn't get this to start.

Never bloomed. Dead culture.
