I was able to get the 8oz tube for $10.50. So I ended up buying 2. I used Aquaseal FD numerous times to repair my breathable waders. This stuff works. My only compliant is how slow it dries. If you never used this product before, just remember to rough up the surface with sand paper first, then clean with alcohol. This will help them bond together easier. And don’t use too much of it, otherwise it will take a looooong time to dry.
I used this to fix my dive boot. The bootie was detaching from the sole. It worked like a charm. A little difficult to use, but it may have just been due to the location of the seal I was trying to achieve. It accomplished the job and has held up well. Much better price than new boots!
I used this to seal the cracks that have started showing in the rubber on my Hunter boots. Seal-wise, it works great. Two watch-outs: - It does take 24 hours to completely dry. (I waited a full weekend.) - It is a bit messy. Use a Q-tip to clean the excess glue or otherwise you will have it piled up in places.
This stiff works as advertised. It is pricy but I don't mind paying for something that works like it is supposed to. Highly recommend this stuff for the boot part of neoprene waders.
Have used this product for years to repair neoprene waders. It has worked great and has saved me from having to purchase new ones when punctures and tares occur. I always make sure I have a full tube handy heading into the fall hunting season.
These are big tubes!!!
I've used Gear Aid Aquaseal FD to patch cracks my muck boots (rubber), hip waders (rubber with nylon upper) and snowmobile boots (rubber with fabric upper). It worked equally well on all materials and I was impressed with the flexibility even at low temperatures. I also used this product to repair tears/rips on the cushions of my boat seats. I purchase the large tube (8 oz) as it is more cost effective and it's always handy to have around the house. After opening, put a dab of petroleum jelly on the cap so it does not stick to the tube and store in the freezer.
I have sealed waders and boots with Aquaseal for years. The packaging has changed, but still the same great product. Used this to seal a pair of Muck boots that had a rip in the neoprene. Great stuff!
I ordered the 8oz Gear Aid Aquaseal FD Repair Adhesive. I had purchased a wetsuit that was way to long but fit everywhere else as I’m 5’0 and finding a petite wetsuit was very difficult. I don’t know how to sew so I needed something that would allow me to cut the length off and then seal the side seam to return it to the original tight fit at ankle. I found having 2 people for this was ideal. I folded the side seam to the desired circumference while the helper applied the adhesive. I then clipped multiple clothes pin to hold the fold and allowed to cure undisturbed for multiple days, even though packaging only states 8-12hrs. Ensure patch area is stored horizontal during cure time as this adhesive WILL migrate and could make an undesirable appearance. I feel this could really help add protection to elbows, knee areas to prevent abrasive tears against rough textures. I can’t speak on longevity as I just applied this but it did seem to hold the new seam strongly. The package is a bit confusing because in one sentence it’s stating to squeeze the remaining contents up to top, wipe clean, cap and store in freezer and then the next sentence says to use entire contents upon opening. So I hope I didn’t just buy 8oz, use approximately 1oz and have to waste the rest.
Purchased this product for neoprene wadders for a seam repair. I followed the directions to a T and the wadders still leaked. I think the product will work but the seam location in the boot was the issue. I had to reapply and use a neoprene patch. Have not tried the wadders since repairig the second time but feel confident that it will work with the neoprene patch and the Aquaseal adhesive.
