Pros - fits my 40 breeder aqueon from petco perfectly. Super easy to assemble. Cons - Instructions were useless - if you are good at basic puzzles, throw out the instructions, you can see where the boards fit and just put them together that way- there is not that many pieces so it's pretty easy to figure out once you sort your top %26 bottom. If you have a 55 or larger as it states, it will support it, however the dimensions are only appropriate for a 40 breeder length and width wise so unless you have a tall tank, this won't work for over a 40G. It says max weight is 650 lbs.. a 40 is about 350lbs with water and scape material. I wouldn't push too much over that to feel safe. 650 seems excessive. I would ignore any review that says this is hard to assemble or anything. You can literally do it with just a philips or flat head. The design is actually really simple and really good. Wish I would have went with this stand over some of my others. It's worth it especially when you look at name brand tank stands with the nice simple flat look. If you have something bigger than a 40, don't buy this. If you have a 40 or smaller, it's definitely worth it.
Bottom line up front: The unit looks good, and I would recommend it. There are two things the manufacturer could fix to improve the product. 1) The boards are susceptible to getting scratched because there is nothing between them in the box. Mine arrived OK, but I could see how others might not. A lightweight thin foam or paper placed between the boards would eliminate this risk. 2) This is the second one of these units I have purchased. The first one, purchased a year ago, used cam locks to secure the pieces together. This new unit uses blocks that require screwing into pre-drilled holes on the boards. This new way is OK until you go to put the top piece on. It requires you to line up 20 pre-drilled holes, which are on the underside of the top board, with the blocks on five separate side pieces, all of which have a slight lean to them. So, you'll lay on your back, contorting your body through the openings of the unit, while holding a flashlight in one hand, aligning the holes with another hand, holding the screw in place so it doesn't fall out with another hand, and the screwing it in with another hand, 20 times :) (yes, you should probably have a helper for this part). All in all, it is a good unit. It's the perfect dimension for a 40-gallon breeder or a 65-gallon aquarium (Both have a 36" x 18" footprint). A 55-gallon aquarium, being 48" long, would overhang a few inches on each side. The weight limit indicates it can hold up to 650 pounds.
The stand provided absolutely no justice. It costs a lot but is of poor quality. It was sent to me with a fault. I have a 55 gallon tank, and it won't fit. It is difficult to identify each part because there are no labels on them. What a massive financial mistake.
The stand it's small, the fish tank doesn't look good if the glass doesn't fit the exact length of the fish tank. It says it can hold up to 650 Lbs. I have a 50 gal fish tank and the stand was very small.
My tank is basically covering the whole top of it and more, it's hanging off the edges. It says 50 gallon but it is not wide enough for one.
