I've been fishing with jitterbugs since my first jitterbug that I purchased In the 1960s: A jointed 3 1/2 in. 5/8 oz. Leopard pattern. I still have it. . . but I've fished so much i wore the paint off of it! So I repainted it. The regular Jitterbug in perch color has been the go-to topwater lure for years now. I have been able to fish ot through dense cabbage-head lilypads . . . thru calm waters . . . thru slightly rough water. I've . learned over the years how to change it up a little to get the bite. If there's a bass in the water. . . I can usually illicit a strike with the Jitterbug!

I have fished Jitterbugs as long as I could hold a rod. I'm now 57 and still use Jitterbugs. They woked when they were first made and never stopped working. And watching a large bass blow up on one never gets old. People now a days fish whopper ploppers and buzz baits and the fish are learning. But not many are fishing jitterbugs so the bass don't know the sound as a lure. And why they are so productive. Get one. If you're going to get just one, buy the black. Then when you want to buy more, and you will, get other colors.

this is an old school bait but still one of the best, my advice is that the old hook hanger's only allow the hooks to swing to a certain point & then the fish use that to ratchet the hooks out, my minor modifications solves that problem for myself, i simply take side cutter's snip the stock hooks that solid split rings thread them through the hook hanger's and then you can put on which ever hooks you prefer i use mustad triple grip KVD they swing more free and my hook rate went up greatly take care tight lines!

I was fishing a black jitterbug at a local pond as it was getting dusk and was catching a couple of good 2-3lbs largemouth. It had then gotten pitch dark where I could not see 1 foot in front of my face and I was just getting eaten alive by mosquitoes. It was my last cast for sure because of those dang mosquitoes and I was about to pull up my jitterbug and run home when Wham! Right below my feet a 3.5lbs bass just nailed the jitterbug and almost gave me a heartattack (but in a good way) and cemented just a deep love for the jitterbug. I find it fun and almost relaxing to fish it and hear the "gurgle gurgle" as it is being retrieved. I love the jitterbug!

Bought the Lumoe not even knowing it glows in the dark. Did some night fishing in the Adirondacks with some buddies all using jitterbugs and the glowing one got the most hits by far. Got a nice 18.5 inch smallie and a few more decent ones. Just leave it in the sun and it will glow pretty much all night. So happy with it and jitterbugs in general.

The Jitterbug, in black, is one of my top lifetime baits. Fish it parallel to the bank, either at dawn or dusk. Hang on tight for some excitement! The Jitterbug is a legend.

I purchased the Lumoe and the Undead Arbogast Jitterbug the description says (sound millions of anglers can immediately recognize) neither one of them make any sound buyer beware, the description should be changed. I can only give one star for false advertising. This product would be much better if it rattled like I think it says.
