We like the design, we like the colder air even more. This is not a fake or copycat, it is solid and works great. it has 2 atomizers in addition to the cooling sponge that the fan flows thru. Priced at half of some others. I don't do a lot of reviews, this one warranted a good one.
This thing puts out COLD air. I didn't even use any ice as the instructions recommend. Within five minutes I was chilly and had to turn it off. There is an important caveat: This is a SWAMP COOLER. It won't work in high humidity. If your humidity is over 40% you are probably going to be disappointed. Otherwise, it works beautifully. It's not going to cool a whole room. But put it on a table nearby and you will be comfortable.
It gets hot where I live in the summer, sometimes into the 106-114 range. We don’t always run our air conditioner so I bought this to help me get through those days. It’s very compact and comes with a type C cord, a filter type thing I like to put in my freezer before I put it in the machine and add water to make it the air colder after I turn it on. The only reason I have it 4 stars is that I have to keep adding water around every 45 minutes. I recommend putting a towel under it.
I was excited about testing the Arctic Air Chill Zone, because it's been hard to stay cool this summer. The Arctic Air Chill Zone is a Portable Cooler with 4 Fan Speeds %26 an LED Night Light, so I thought it would be perfect for our porch. It features an evaporative cooling cartridge that instantly chills the air to cool small spaces, and multiple color options for the night light. I like these basic features, but I don't like the effort involved in operation. First, the cooling cartridge must be frozen prior to use. Second, cold water is required. Third, ice cubes are recommended for the best cooling experience... Personally, I find that to be a lot of work for what was supposed to be a convenient, portable device that can be taken "anywhere." And, while I like the idea of the evaporative technology, the mist does dampen nearby clothing and furniture. I received this product free for the purpose of my honest review, and I think it's an okay fan for the price. I can see it being very useful in a space that needs both cooling and humidifying, but it isn't a great fit for my needs.
It keeps my room cool, but I wish it held more water for the price I paid for this, I continually and constantly have to fill it and the filter I wish it would stay frozen longer too. But this is what we get for the cost, still haven’t checked to see what another filter would cost. Do think it’s helped the dry air here in my room too since we do have the air conditioner running too in the house. This little thing is a moisture mister..
Good but not for long, you get what you pay for, the cooling only lasted about 3 mins, even after I wet the filter and left it in the refrigerator for 2HOURS, and on top of that I used super cold water, this would’ve good for smaller rooms or dorms
This unit is a sham. The cooling relays on convection of water from a rescue of distilled water to be sucked up by capillary action to keep pad media wet. This action fails in a day or so. There is no mention to replace pads daily for this is required or the pads stop working correctly. The unit greatly needs a small water circulation pump, then it would be effective and useful.
Warning! Arctic Air CHILL ZONE instructions say to replace the filter every 1-3 months. Arctic Air/Ontel no longer sell the replacement filter for this model. Checked Amazon and WALMART and they do not carry this model filter either. Same thing happened last year when I bought the Arctic Air Tower , instructions say to replace filter regularly but Arctic Air/Ontel no longer makes/sells that filter also. I called them directly and they said I might be able to "purchase a used filter on eBay" Are you SERIOUS!
It’s just like a fan. It doesn’t cool anything off for real and it also stopped working on me. Wasted my money.
I only ordered this online because it said it would get here today and I needed it because my air condition is out and I am sick. The picture showed that it was delivered to the wrong address I asked if the delivery driver could go back and get it since it had just been delivered. I was just given a refund and told I would have to re-order it and it will take 10 days to get my refund. It was also suggested that I go walk around the neighborhood and try to find it. The person that I chatted to also told me I should keep a closer eye on my emails when I responded at the exact time that the text was sent to me that it had just arrived. My mailbox is clearly marked with my number on it.
