The A/C unit works GREAT ... so far ... ;*). A bit of a tight fit in the window, so pay attention to the size requirements to make sure it will fit your window. To date, all my A/C window units were 5,000 BTUs to 8,000 BTUs. The 10,000 BTUs unit was a tight fit (and heavy, so don't be afraid to ask a friend for installation help ... you DO NOT want to drop it) ... as BTUs increase, the units get bigger AND heavier. It handles Texas "triple digits" just fine, but Texas is low humidity ... "it's a dry heat" ... I'm originally from Florida ... so, YES ... humidity does makes a difference. Having an MS in Engineering ... always "go big, or go home" with appliances. You can always run it on the "Economy" setting, and then crank it up when you need to. Don't literally "sweat" those details. An appliance on "Economy" mode will still run much more efficiently, than an "undersized" appliance struggling to perform. I think my unit was "discontinued" (which explains the mark down price), but the newer models appeared no different ... yeah, that is why I chose this one. Hope this meandering review helps ... :-)
I love the price of $239! Can't beat it! It arrived earlier than expected! It cools off my living room and kitchen! Installation was fast and the remote is pretty cool. It's worth your money specially if you live in California heat! The only problem is Fedex delivering it, they just throw it around.
It's July and extremely hot now where I live. I've only had it running for two days but it is doing a great job cooling a two car garage that we have set up for a dog room and living space.
This was a great buy so far it works really well. It keeps my house cool I have it in my living room window and I have a couple of box fans pulling the air to other parts of the house and it works wonders because I live in Arkansas so it's very hot here
This AC window unit so far seems to be doing well. It's not real loud when running and it has cooled things down tremendously. The remote is a little on the cheap side, but it works great. There are plenty of setting. I believe there is a setting that would make everyone happy. Overall I am satisfied with my purchase.
So far so good. My central air went out in June and I didn't want to spend $10000 for a new one. I live in a 14 x 70 single wide so I bought an LG 8000 btu and installed it in the kitchen window and it pretty much keeps the kitchen, living room and 2 bedrooms cool with fans in the bedrooms. Unfortunately my bedroom thats at the far end was not so cool. walmart sent me a notice of a price drop on this one so I bought it for my bedroom. It keeps it very chilly in there now. I keep it set around 70 degrees on economy and have to turn the vents so they blow away from my bed. it also keeps the hallway and the 1st bedroom off the living room cool. It was also extremely easy to install. Way easier than the LG. The remote is a piece of junk but I dont care about that and its a little louder then the LG but i would definitely recommend it.
Installed with no problem except a minor window modification. My tip for you is to make sure you measure your window space before ordering. I have older windows and they did not want to open far enough to allow the AC unit to come through the opening without modification to the top window stops.
Not sure if AC unit will work or last since it was left on its side. FedEx drivers must not know how to read, box clearly states this side up do not lay on its side.. laying anything with the compressor inside allows all to get into the valves and possibly damage the compressors or shorten the life span of such product
So right on ur page first thing I see is 90 day return policy. I bought an a/c unit and received it 8-24 I tried to go return it and they told me the time for return has expired . I was so upset not only because I could not return it but because it was heavy and I had to take it out my car and put it in the cart only to come back and put it back in the car. I need to be able to return it the Landlord would not allow me to install .
A/C unit is quiet on low and works well. The remote is a thin piece of garbage. Came with what I thought was a dead CR2025 coin-style remote battery. I spent more money on a battery and it still doesn't work. Why not provide an actual usable remote that uses AAA batteries like EVERY OTHER BRAND?!
