Peoples, this portable AC is amazing. Came with everything compared to my older Honeywell one from BestBuy. Bought this on rollback online and best investment ever. Summers are no longer humid and ridiculously hot. This made my room an Arctic King. Controlled room at 73-74 degrees. Remote controlled when I am feeling lazy, but I don't use it much because I like to press the buttons on top. I like how people complained about the noise level, but compared to my older ones, this runs smooth and loud. Just expect the noise, because they are loud and there's nothing you can do about it. That's why real air conditioning is outside and this is portable for indoors....with noise.
Ran it through all its modes of operation without problems. Cools down quickly. Haven't run it long enough yet to see how well it dehumidifies. Straightforward installation although we haven't used it overnight yet. Have had it for only a month so we'll see how long it lasts.
I choose this AC based on the "review community" and I'm so glad I did. I'm a Weight Watcher, and I need to do activity daily, but since the weather is so Hot, I haven't been able to do my walk on the treadmill. The heat never seem to bother me so much as it has this year. So, I needed something to get the room cool quickly. And to be able to move it to another room when I'm not using it. This little Arctic King does the trick. It's small but might and it rolls really good on the tile floors. WOW !!! it gets COLD really fast. I LOVED it. It comes with a remote control and the temp setting gets as low as 60 degree. YES ! I didn't install in a window, because my windows side to the right they don't go up and down. I had my handyman put a hole in the wall with a trap door (like the drier) and attached the flexible tubing so the exhaust go out. Its a little noise, but that's ok, I just crank up my Boom Box (I don't like the ear bubs). And just get my walk on. My son, moved it into his room yesterday, and he couldn't believe how cold it got, so, fast. My handyman, said he's going to get 1 of them for his mothers house in Mexico. In the winter I can just roll it into the closet.
This person below me is bitter they paid $100 too much LOL!!! This thing is SO cold. It's really 12,000 BTU but with the new portable AC BTU standard it's rated at 8,000 BTU. I turn it on in my master bed room at 82F and in 10 min it dropped to 70F. The only gripe I have is the exhaust tube vent like any other portable AC is not insulated so that area of the room near the exhaust is warmer. Also, the window insert for the exhaust is just thin plastic and it's not insulated, so it's not very efficient in that aspect, but it still cools the room down and keeps it cool. If you want to save on your electric bill put insulation on the plastic insert and around the exhaust tube.
This style of A/C is wonderful! The ease of installation is perfect for a state that has harsh winters and the A/C needs to be uninstalled in the fall. It is so much easier to handle than the typical window A/C. I'll be able to do that myself which is so important since I am an older woman living alone. It actually makes it cold in here if I crank it up! I love that. With my ceiling fan, it distributes the air very well. It has a lot of power, and I don't find it noisy at all. People who have visited me--want one! That pretty much says it all. It's great advertising just on its own. It speaks well of itself.
The product is very good. We are happy with the purchase and would have no problem telling our friends about the product as well as the wonderful service from Walmart. Keep up the good work !!
Loud but not abnormal. Exhaust vent allows a lot of heat to pour back into the room. Should allow a dryer exhaust vent to be exchanged for better heat containment.
This portable air conditioner works great. It keeps my living room nice and cold. It works better and is quieter than my old window unit. I would have given it 5 stars but the way it vents through the window is horrible. I needed to buy extra insulation and literally use duct tape to seal the opening. Even where the exhaust hose fits into the window panel, that it came with, still lets light, air, and bugs in. That part I am very disappointed in.
Its not loud like everyone complains about. Yes, the compressor kicks on every once in a while to engage the "cooling"....and its no louder than a typical Window Air Conditioner. Can you fall asleep with it on? Absolutely. This kicks out some pretty serious cold air. This unit easily performs just as good as a wall unit of the same size/BTU. It has a timer ON/OFF feature which is pretty sweet, to set it to turn itself on or off whenever you tell it to. But its not a 'programed timer' that will do it everyday for you automatically. You have to set the ON/OFF timer every time you want it to do it. Here in Southern California, we have been getting slammed with 100+ degree temps a lot this summer. And my bedroom is located on the top floor facing West, so it turns into a hot box in the afternoon sun beating on it. This Portable AC was my savior, and the ideal solution. I turn it on 1 hour before going to bed to cool the room down to comfortable sleeping conditions. Ive just got it delivered yesterday, So I cant comment on longevity. So far, upon first use.....This unit is worth every penny, in my opinion.
Worked well for like a week now it just constantly shuts off. I've followed all of the troubleshooting guides that say to drain the water collection tanks and clean the air filter, and still having issues. Also, the app is pretty bad as well. It took forever to set up. When I finally did get it set up, it stopped working shortly afterwards. You have to empty the drain tanks like every day when it did work.
