Ariel Ultra Oxi Powder Laundry Detergent, Original Scent, 132 Loads, 211 Ounce

Y'ALL. Buy this. Don't hesitate. Just buy it. It has lipase, so it breaks down oils/fats in stains but also gets rid of all the body oils in your clothing! If you're a woman like me, surrounded by Y-chromosome-bearers who all have that boy smell (if you know, you know), this is the detergent for you. Even if you don't fit any of the aforementioned criteria, I didn't forget you, so trust me-- this is still the detergent for you. I have been on the hunt for the best laundry detergent/additives for a few years now, since my older son started puberty and started stinking up the place, despite his regular showers and use of antiperspirant, and now I have two boys in the thick of it. I have tried EVERYTHING to make our laundry fresher without dingy-ness, soaks, and re-washes (with resulting high water bill), and I found the best thing for our laundry was lipase. It's in Biz powder, but that's an additive, not a detergent. Ariel cuts that extra step/product out AND is extraordinarily affordable to boot! I couldn't ask for more from a detergent, and the savings over the detergents and additives I was buying before cannot be beat, not to mention the water savings. Our whites are whiter (though I do put a Shout Color Catcher in every load-- just reuse them until they fall apart), and everything smells FRESH without being perfume-y. My husband, God bless him, secretes more oil than an olive tree, and his clothes have never smelled this good in the 20 years we've been together. Even the armpits of everyone's shirts look and smell great. Our linens... oh, man, I give up and replace sheets and towels far more than the average person, but Ariel has stemmed the tide, you have no idea! Anyway, this bag is GIANT, and I really mean that. It's absolutely huge! The only down side, other than its sheer size, is that it is not resealable. I used a heat sealer to reseal mine (you could probably use a hair straightener if you have one) and "dispense" detergent from a 1-gallon glass cookie jar-type container I bought for ten bucks at Walmart and a 1/4 cup scoop I had on hand. I was so afraid word would get out about this (because Biz can be hard to find at retail price sometimes) so bought two bags and therefore should have plenty of detergent to last us for some time. I feel like I should be discouraging people from buying this so that there's more for me, but I have faith in my friends at Sam's Club to continue restocking this awesome product while also letting you in on my laundry successes so they can be your successes, too.
