I have owned Ariens snowblowers for the last 30 years and have never had any issues with them. I highly recommend any of their models because they're all very good quality for the price. I just purchased a new Ariens 921070 Deluxe and it's a great machine. 5 Stars for a 5 Star Company.
I bought this a few weeks ago when we got our first snowstorm and it's amazing, it plows right through 2 feet of snow and has a lot of great features!
Third season with the 28" Deluxe with the 254cc engine. LOVE IT. Live in western PA, where we get 2-4" regularly, 1 foot occasionally, always heavy wet snow, and we have large snow berms from the plows. I've owned a similar sized Honda track drive unit and got rid of it because it was too slow for quick clearing. What I love about the Ariens is that in typical snow falls, in high gears 5-7, you can walk at a brisk pace and clear quickly. Our driveway is about 18' wide by 120' long. However, in thick heavy snow and dense snow berms, it will take a full bucket and throw it 50' if needed and just power through. Not sure how they did it but when you bury this machine in 2' of snow berm with deep compact snow, the engine puts out unbelievable torque. When this engine lugs, its powers through - similar in behavior to a diesel honestly. In summary - what I love about this machine -- in normal snows its quick, efficient, and maneuverable. If deep heavy snows, it doesn't back down and powers through with deep intentionality. The plug in electric start is a wonderful feature that makes cold starts effortless - though it readily starts with the pull cord - the electric is a no brainer. I demand quality equipment and am continually impressed by this machine. Effortless to operate.
I recently purchased this to replace a 21 year old blower because I wanted something newer and more reliable. We have had 2 snow storms so far and this is a great snowblower. No doubt that Ariens has the best snowblowers.
Just bought for February 26 snow storm, great machine only thing i would have liked would be the tracks but could not find them anywhere, i got lucky and found this one in Loews, i mainly use it for the back yard 100'X100' for our 100lb dog, i lifted the skates up so it dosent rip up the grass, used it 2 times so far and its a beast, i will be ordering tire chains for it, love this snow monster.
My parents bought an Ariens 24" 7hp in 1972. That's when I was hooked on the Ariens brand! I bought an Ariens Deluxe 28 just before snowstorm Amelia hit Northeastern Wisconsin. I woke up to 3" of slushy wet snow on the bottom with another 3" of wet heavy snow on top. The Deluxe 28 threw it 20' like a champ! Never clogged up, never skipped a beat! What a great way to break in my new machine! Since then I've used it in several more snowstorms, most of them wet heavy snow. The Ariens Deluxe 28 surpasses my expectations. I will recommend it to anyone that needs a quality snow thro that's made right here in Wisconsin!
Bought this Ariens snowblower 2 years ago, live in Quebec Canada, we have a lot of snow every year, easy to use starts one crank, very powerful, buying another one for my Mother,.
This is my initial assessment of my new Deluxe 28". Having been thru two big snow events for 2026 in Northern NY (ADK MTNS) this machine is built like a tank and very powerful. It has handled the heavy wet stuff and today (1/26/2026) the deep fluffy powder stuff with ease. This machine is easy to use and the ergonomics are perfect. My only complaint is the fact that the LED light has stopped working on only its second mission of snow removal. The ground and connections are intact so it is the LED light unit itself. NOT what I expected from this iconic American manufacturer. To be fair, this unit was purchased and assembled at a big box store; but there are plenty of testimonies of this being a common issue with Ariens.
Living in Newfoundland a snowblower is a necessity or buy a condo. My Honda 928 tranny gone again 11 year old machine second time and parts are expensive so enough is enough my brother has an Ariens and I've used them before so I bought a 28 Deluxe. 37cm of snow 23 December and the 28 handled it very well and we have had 30cm since then NICE working machine easy to handle and the steering assist is very nice although I was a skeptic it's actually very nice to use. I'd give it a Five Star but it's only been 10 days ownership so far, if I get the chance to update once the winter is over I will. Also I've changed the oil and it was a breeze to do.
Chose Ariens because they were supposedly the best machines out there and because of many positive reviews, but I have had nothing but problems with mine. Bought new in November 2020 and it broke down on day 1. It had to go back in for repairs 3 times in the first month. I followed manufactures and dealers operating and maintenance procedures to the letter, always use fresh premium non-ethanol gas and it still never starts easily or runs smoothly, and engine constantly quits for no apparent reason. Cannot handle more than 3-4 inches of heavy snow either. Total piece of junk and waste of money for me. Just beware there are some lemons out there and some poor quality control, despite the overall good reviews. I will never buy another Ariens.
