I've been using Shield for about a year, I found it at O'reilly's after another product I'd used before was no longer available. I use it on my 1931 Ford Model A hotrod. I have bobbed fenders on the back and they are well protected with this stuff on them. It really works. Just to show you how tough it is, after I applied it to the fenders we went to GoodGuys in Des Moines Iowa, about 215 miles, and some of the overspray was still on the tread of the back tires when we got to Des Moines. THAT'S TOUGH STUFF!! It rubbed off thew tires but it was funny to see it still on the tread after 215 miles of interstate!!
I bought this at Wal-Mart and I can not remove it at all it is giving me a very tough time and I do not know what to do... please help me my car looks terrible... I just want this stuff off of it. Armor all I do love your products but this one has only given me nightmares for months....
I found the AA Cover Shield worked really well as far as protecting the car from bug stains and marks, quite impressed really and easy to apply. I used four coats and allowed them to dry in between. When removing it, the product came off really easily where I had put it on thick enough, like a plastic sheet, so that was great. However where the coats were not thick enough, it is very hard to remove. It will come off by rubbing with your fingers (a bit like some rubbery glue products), however very time consuming (and not great for the fingers either). I also tried the AA Bug Grime Remover and washing without success. My view, AA Cover Shield is a great product BUT it needs minimum of 4 THICK COATS, and the instructions for using the product should be MUCH clearer on how thick the coats need to be and also the estimated time for Cover Shield to dry.
I'm using as a bra for m car cause all the bugs and it's still working good after. 2 months I do recommend this product to everybody
Sprayed my rims black and they look great! Love this product. Easily better than plasti dip.
Placed on car according to instructions to protect during two trips to FL. The last during the "lovebug" season. Proteted well. BUT took forever to TRY to remove. Difficult to remove. Would only pull 2-3 inches and part of covering would stick more than rest and tear. Edges at seams were impossible to remove. For this I am very disappointed and am sorry I used. 2012 Sienna now does not look good up close at these areas which I could not remove.
I have use ArmorAll products for years with great success, so when I saw 2 similar products (another by 3M), I choose ArmorAll. Big Mistake !! I own a Mercedes GL550, E550 Cabriolet, Bentley Flying Spur and a Cobra andam fanatical about my cars and their appearance. I followed the instructions carefully and have pictures showing the same. Carefully masked the entire front and applied 3 full coats over 2 days and nights in Florida. Then sprayed the edges as directed. Looked good, seemed to work good, until my 2nd long road trip from Charlotte back to Port St Lucie, FL. driving the GL 550. I had some very heavy rain and when I reached Florida, the front fender, in front of the tires had the product peeling off. But even with a power washer, I cannot get it off and it "Certainly Does Not Come Off As Advertised". At the best, I can pull up a 1/4". Can you imagine how long it would take me to take it off?
I have used plasti dip, and when I saw this on sale at Walmart, I tried it. Big mistake! The spray is like spitting on the car, and nothing would improve it. It also does not allow you to peel off the mask as easily as plasti dip. The film comes off with the tape, even if you spray the last coat and immediately pull the tape as per the instructions. Only good if you want to make a mess on your car.
Very hard to remove...You almost have to use a rag soaked in fuel to remove it!! No it destroyed my clear coat...but its off!!
Applied product on my corvette and was verry disapointed, I followed the directions yet it sprayed out gritty and dry with a dull finish so I removed it , maybe I just bought a "bad can" but I won't buy it again
