Art Academy - Nintendo DS

I have always been interested in art since 2nd grade. I found Art Academy and played it and it was a great way to learn drawing and painting. Their are 10 lessons that teach you the basics of art. Lessons 4-10 have minilessons, which are lessons to review what you learned in the previous lesson. Their is also free paint to paint and draw whatever you want. Their is also an art gallery to view what you have created. You can even put your art in frames. This game is really cool of what you can draw and paint. You first think you really can't do it, but by step by step, you make a perfect masterpiece. And if you need to zoom in because of the small screen on the DS, their is a zoom-in tool which is very useful. I would definitely recommend this game to people who love art and who want to learn art.

I love drawing and art, so therefore I love this game and cant get enough of how much it teaches you to really draw well. it starts off in simple steps and at the end of your lesson there is this pretty piece of art in front of you. I think this game is great and I would absolutly recommend this game to anyone. this is far worth the money, I am so glad I got this game

Okay, I have used this game for a few days, now. So far, I really like it. I think it is an excellent stepping stone into doing greater things with art. I'm 37, and I LOVE the lessons. My kids also love the lessons. Even my 3-y/o loves when I send her a DS Download Demo. The lessons walk you through steps to create wonderful art. You can use three different types of pencil, and either use them at the point, or rubbing them on the side of the lead. You can use 6 different paint brushes, mix paint, and even control how much water you use. I recommend this game to anyone who is interested in art, wants to learn to draw, and/or wants to learn to paint. I plan on trying some of the techniques I have learned from this game on real canvas. Great game! The only downside I see is that you cannot export your artwork in anyway. You are able to save your art in-game, but I wish there was a way to send it to my computer, or something. Even better, it would be great to upload it to a site where others could give feedback.

Is a wonderful help for those kids who love draw and paint. My 12 years old daughter loves this game and she could learn a lot during she's playing.

Pretty nice tutorial to walk through how to paint. Entertaining enough for the aspiring young artist. It was purchased as a gift and was well received. Walmart had the best price and the shipping was fast.

Bought this for my 5 yr old for Christmas because she LOVES to draw and color. It is a cool game but is a little advanced for someone who just learning to read being there is a lot of typed instruction that requires reading.

My son asked for this for his birthday and it's great fun!
