I purchased this item for my senior cat who is no longer interested in his litter box. He had been going through 3 puppy pee pads a day and this is a whole lot cheaper. He took to it right away and uses it without fail (no more carpet clean-ups). I put one pee pad under the grass and replace it once a day. No mess, no smell...it's great. I know it sounds crazy but when you have senior animals that you love, sometimes you'll do anything.
My dog has been litter trained since he was a puppy. He recently outgrew his litter box and I was tired of kitty litter on the floor. My dog did protest the change at first but with persistence he did start using the puppy potty trainer. Now there is no more litter on the floor and he never misses. This is easier to clean than a regular litter box and there are no more gnats flying around it. I am seriously considering getting one for my cats.
I purchased this product and brand to replace the higher end brand. I must say, it was well worth the money. Half the cost of the well known brand this was easy to use, no installation required - just take it out the box. My dog uses it on a regular basis, easy wash. It is outside on my balcony, all I have to do is open the door and he's out there doing his business. This product works the same as the high end one at a fraction of the cost. I will be purchasing another one when the time comes. There's no need to purchase the $40 when this one does the EXACT same thing.
I really like this and it's very convenient for them to use too when they can't be outside because of the weather.
We live in the mountains so it's not to easy for a 4lb chihuahua (Bambi) to go potty. I bought one of these before and she uses it great. So for Christmas I decided to get her a new one and she loves that one too. It keeps her mess in one area for easier clean up and we put it next to the back door so at night she can go and we don't have to worry much about wild animals getting her. This pad cleans off with a hose too. It's great. Highly recommend it.
Trying to get her to use it
I use this out on the patio, because I live in Phx, it is always ok outside. I fill a kitty litter jug with water and bleach mix and dump it on the pad outside, never in the house, bathtub, or wherever. I make sure it is where I don't have to pick it up with the cleaning solution on it. Just where it can be tipped over. Then keep pouring the water until the pad runs clear of pee. If you have to use this in the house, why not in the bathroom, so you don't have to carry it around. Then dump the potty in the human toilet. Rinse out in the toilet using the jug of water, never the tub. I have been lucky that my little dog uses it and does well. The cleaning is not hard, just stinky. Guess if I cleaned it off every day, it wouldn't be so bad. But I love having this. Would recommend to everyone.
Not all that great. Cheapo. Isn't easy to clean and didn't really attract my dog to using it. I use puppy pads inside of it to Maher sure she uses it while I'm at work, so it's OK for that. But honestly, I basically only dressed up her potty pads. Kind of a waste.
it doesnt stay together so it was super easy for my puppy to just pull the grass pad off and chew on it so he never saw it as a place to pee. I even sprayed it, but he wouldn't use it.
At first my puppy ate it but I finally tried and used it. To clean you have to get it up without spilling anything bring it in the bathtub rinse it out thoroughly and then rinse out the grass mat that absorbs water. The grass mat sheds in your tub and then you have to take that out of your tub or drains. The mat takes a while to dry. A lot of trouble when puppy pads work perfectly well, can be thrown in the trash and are not expensive . Our puppy is being trained by the place in method and he's doing great but I push this grass puppy potty under the couch...its clean by the way .... I don't have the time and energy to clean it so I don't want him chewing on it and I definitely don't want him using it to potty and then I have to go through 20 minutes in the bathtub with it being rinsed out... By the way then I have to clean the bathtub. It's a waste of money and I absolutely do not buy this item.
