Strong
Surprisingly strong and supporting. I just stepped on bottom to put in ground and hung my lanterns. The lanterns heavier than I thought when I purchased the hooks but they held up very well. So cute.

Weak metal and bends easy
Save yourself the disappointment and hassle and order the Ashman larger (65" or larger) Shepherds hooks unless you are hanging very<---VERY light items. This will NOT hold a 10" pot loaded with watered potting mix and flowers without bending. I knew better than to assume it would be as thick as the other Shepherds hooks of taller size, these are not as strong or thick. I will take some responsibility for attempting to save money on buying the cheaper (shorter) Shepherds hooks. I knew better............But this is the problem with reviews... Some claim they are wonderful, strong and able to do the job of hanging a flower pot? Perhaps what they were sent isn't want I was sent? Eh... Doesn't matter, I got what I paid for... 10 cheap metal shepherd hooks that will be shoved into a back corner of the garage to collect dust because they are not strong enough to be used for the purpose I bought them..... Live and learn....
