Ashthorpe 6-String Banjo with 24-Brackets and Mahogany Resonator

I grew up singing and playing music my whole life and I still perform live at various venues and events with my band. So I was looking to add a 6 string Banjo to my band sound. When I came across this instrument, I was hesitant at first about purchasing this 6 string Banjo because i didn't recognize the name brand, as i only have Gibson's, Martins and Fenders in my Guitar Collection. But I was in the market for a 6 string Banjo, and the looks of this particular one caught my eye, and the price was so reasonable, and so I thought I'd take a chance on buying it. As soon as it arrived, I immediately took it out of the packaging, and thought it was BEAUTIFUL! It seemed to be well crafted and even had a little weight to it, making it feel like a more quality Banjo, and not just a kids toy. Then when I played it, the sound was incredible! it was loud and had a the traditional Banjo sound. This was Great because I don't know how to play the 5 string Banjo, but I can play an acoustic, 6 string rhythm guitar. And this 6 string Banjo plays just like a 6 string rhythm guitar, but it has the 5 string Banjo sound! Long story short, This instrument is INCREDIBLE!! I'm typically a Guitar snob with only liking the high end, name brand guitars. But after seeing and holding and playing this 6 string Banjo, I will proudly hang it up right next to my Gibson's, Martin's, and Fender's!! Seriously, it's beautiful and I'll keep it in my collection forever! I will mention also that it also came with a soft case / gig bag that also looks high quality. it has a pouch where I keep my new leather strap (not included) and spare strings and cleaning cloth ( included). I also had a musician friend of mine install a pick-up to amplify my Banjo for sound on stage . It really sounds incredible! I can't say enough about my new little 6 string Banjo. I am proud to have it! it looks so classy too on stage. And it arrived rather quickly as well!! If you're on the fence about this purchase, DON'T BE!! I personally recommend it, HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!! Was pleasantly surprised by how decent is was for the price.

great looking banjo, could use better strings, doesnt sound great in standard guitar tuning, tuned in open d and it sounds pretty good, its a bargain for the money

Decent instrument for the money, and comes with nice gig bag. Only negative was too heavy sound strings, which I changed to lighter silk and steels.
